Hate to beat the dead horse but that 6,000 capacity is not correct!

Phantom, you are beating a dead horse. Why so negative? The glass is either half empty or half full. I want my glass, arena, half full. Maybe I should join the bevelheads!

WHY is that construed as being negative?
It is not accurate and it is misleading?
And, if that that is enough to send you to the Bevels, be prepared! Unless I am wrong and I cant prove it otherwise...I dont imagine their always pump'n sunshine about everything over there!

I want my glass, arena, half full. Maybe I should join the bevelheads! Our glass is always at least half full, most of the time with the official beer of the Bevelwagon Genny Cream Ale. As far as pump'n sunshine, is that slang for some new drug? Just kidding of course.

Please note that everyone is welcome on the Bevelboard. bonabandwagon.proboards91.com//index.cgiWe'll do our best to pump sunshine....I don't really know what it means, but if you want your sunshine pumped, I am sure the bevelboard would be happy to accommodate that. Phantom, what is the official count for the RC? I think this is a question for Soupy, the man, the myth, the legend.... he's still around right? I think he's came out of retirement more than Charles Barkley.

Mr. Bonaventure, Pull up a seat. As Keystone mentioned we have plenty of delicious Genny Cream Ale or a Genny Light Pounder if you prefer. I'm not sure about pump'n sunshine but we discuss pump'n big-boned women, pump'n kegs, and pump'n the gorgeous girls of 80's sitcoms ie Alyssa Milano, Whitney Cooper, Saved by the Bell chics and others.

Soup is in fact my source on that! A big sunshine pumper as well!
This will be his last year!
Not to mention, I know someone who actually counted them out, seat by seat! The number is around 4500!

Well I for one hope they raise his shirt to the rafters, he was the man. I can't think of another boss that would call me at 5:30 in the morning to be in at 6......the thing was it was just soupy, so no one could ever be pissed at him. I wonder about the counting method though when it comes to the student section and the standing room only areas on the floor. I guess the only real way to be sure is count the tickets/student swipes and then make a guess on the non-ticketed people. I can remember a few years back when that 70% was up closer to 90%-100%. I wonder if they'll ever be able to pull like that agin on a consistant basis. It is the only show in town.

Since we are talking about seating capacity I do not think standing room pertains. Besides, where is there designated standing room?
I have sat in the red seats for years now, but if I understand correctly, don't each bleacher seat have a designation?

3,149 Reds 486 Blues 1,146 Bleachers Total = 4,781 actual numbered seats that someone can put a fanny in ! Does not count allottments for standing room, those metal student bleachers at the North end, press row, support staff, etc. (but none of those are ticketed seats). Handicapped accomodations are also not included, they used to pull the bleachers in one row and put them on the sidelines, but that created a hazardous situation for both players and handicapped fans. Now, they place them at the tables in the South endzone. Add approximately 10-15 per game. (minus John Ostergard of course, a class of '76 grad, who spent his entire life in a wheelchair - www.caseyhalwighartle.com/index.php?John%20W.%20Ostergard - and was by far the biggest Bona fan of all time. He once told me a story of a Bona player at the Armory who broke the string that held up his shorts, and played the whole game holding up his shorts with one hand, dribbling with the other hand, only letting go to shoot or rebound, and then quickly hiking them up again before major exposure occured, or something to that extent. Don't recall the player's name.

Wow wolf74....you must have been the before mentioned counter.
Here's a thought, pretty much tossing it out there for anyone to comment on.
When I went to Bonas I was a student Ambassador, aka Tour Guide. After reading about the 70% full-house and recruiting issues the University is having now.......does anyone see where I am going with this?
What if Bonas picked some random A10 game on a Tuesday night and incorporate a recruting event with a game (if it goes over well, do it for a few games).
You look at if from two angles: 1. fill up the seats with warm bodies. 2. Get a bunch of preospective local students on campus.
Similar to any event there will surely be people that take advantage of it and all the normal issues that will need to be worked out, but say 10 kids out of the 500 that attend on free tickets decide to go to SBU.

At 4781 that then equates to 89.54%. Not too bad.

Once again, many of you (in particular Phantom), are missing the point. Do we want people to think that the RC is smaller than what you report? How does that look to potential recruits? People already think we live in the middle of nowhere. Hey, I rather have a make believe 6,000 seat arena rather than a 4,000 seat arena. Someone may have counted all the seats but what you are forgetting is the formula Bonas measures this by. The number of seats in the RC plus the number of students attending SBU, minus 20%. Jessica Alba on a hot summer day. Picture that in a thong!!!!!!!!! I am burning up.
