Wednesday's game is an important one from a standings perspective as we will likely finish near the Explorers in the table and this is our only meeting. La Salle sports the leagues 2nd best scoring offense, so we will expect a high scoring game. They're an offense heavy, defensively poor team that uses five D1 transfers to get it done at "Transfer U". Jordan Price is not the only player worth worrying about as La Salle is much more balanced offensively and have five guys shooting it over 35% from deep. If SBU is to win tomorrow, and going forward, we need Jay Adams to snap out of his current shooting funk and provide this team the big 1-2 punch in the backcourt. Since the URI game Jay has not been the same. Full preview below as always including advanced stats on La Salle, our three things to watch and game prediction. It will be interesting to see if Andoh gets reward with some clock after his 10-13 shooting effort in DC. bit.ly/2kslKCR www.thebonablog.com

If you look back at last year by the last few games Marcus and Jaylen were worn down. As I have noted before guys cannot play 40 minutes a game all the time.

Watch out for The Pookater...Pookie Powell.
LaSalle started 5-1 in league but got blasted at VCU and hasn't been the same club since
Dem Bonnies gotsta have this one. Quit screwing around and bear down Wednesday and for the remaining five games before Pittsburgh. Get the best seed possible.

One cannot expect Bona to win four straight in Pgh considering the minutes the starting backcourt has put in without a whole lot of bench rest. Seems Schmidt has little confidence in Kaputo and none in Coburn. Lack of consistent backcourt depth has been a season-long issue.

JP Butler tweeted Powell is likely to play.
This game concerns me as La Salle can score and we tend to give up a lot of points. Our defense has been improved recently and it will have to continue that way. If the Sallies get hot, it will be a rough night for the home team unless we can fight fire with fire.

Don't usually get to caught up in the who beat who, who lost to who game....however this La Salle team LOST to Penn...a team that is at the bottom of the Ivy League. The bottom A-10 team would win the Ivy League title.
Bonnies cannot give this one up at home. For whatever reason they have struggled mightily out of the gates for the past 8-10 games. It's like there isn't sense of urgency to compete until they're down. That's not good - guys just haven't been ready to come out and play. Jay and Matt need to establish themselves early - take open shots - and Denzel needs to play like a senior and not be sitting on the pine at the 14 minute mark of the first half with 2 fouls.
Bonnies are due for a solid offensive game in a big way. Let's find it this week. Huge week.
Go Bonas!

just play defense for 40 mins and you should beat LaSalle. Not 32 minutes of defensive effort, Not 20, not 15... etc.. not in the period where you are playing catch-up, only... No. Just stay focused defensively enough where you are at least challenging their looks from the opening tip off until the clock strikes zero for once

Sip, someone said I think a few weeks ago that he was coming back soon, and that Jay was playing vs. Fordham (he didn't) and that Stockard would be back by March (He won't). Bonas has been totally hush on Chino so who knows, I think it's possible you've seen the last of him. Shame for all parties. www.thebonablog.com

Thanks njbonnies08, I was kind of wondering if we got "damaged goods" all along from the Orange.

Chinoso is a good kid by all accounts but a mediocre basketball player at best. Given our current record/standing we should be getting minutes for Ikpeze and Ayeni rather than trying to work Chinoso back into the lineup anyway. Andoh played a bunch of minutes in the GW game because Ayeni was in foul trouble and Ikpeze struggled guarding their versatile bigs.
Henry and Washington for LaSalle are more traditional big men so I look for Ikpeze to have a bounce back game at least minutes wise.
