A police report has been filed and a lawyer will be retained. Here is the police report as it appeared in today's (7/8) Times Herald:
Friday, 11:02 AM, Jason Whiteman of Allegany, reported that someone punched him in the eye, causing a bruise and a broken bone underneath his eye requiring medical attention, while at Younger's Bar, West State Street
On the night of the fight allegedly involving basketball players (posted previously), there was a bachelor party at Younger's at the same time. Apparently, this bachelor party was pretty loud and raucous, as most such events are, and it apparently disturbed one of the players (who knows why). As Jason was heading toward the bathroom, someone 'out of nowhere' sucker-punched him, resulting in a cracked cheek bone, and possible damage to the eye socket.
His description of the assailant was "a very tall black man, 6'9" to 7' tall. Not too many people in Olean fit that description, so it kind of narrows it down.
We all knew it was just a matter of time. Those of you that previously posted about that night in Younger's, get ready to get subpoenaed. This guy and his father are irate, and ready to press this to the fullest extent possible.
Let's go out and recruit some more JUCO thugs.

To those who visit this board as Bona basketball fans:
Please calm down. I was there. Nothing will happen.
Though I did not post on the subject in the prior thread, I can guarantee this will not have any effect on our team.
A handful of our players were in attendance. Despite rumors, none of them were involved.
End of story.

To you, oleanhuskies: A police report has been filed and a lawyer will be retained. It's no surprise you post this. You post nothing that is not of the possible detriment to the St. Bonaventure program. I use the terms "possible" and "St. Bonaventure" as I know this will have no consequence on a program I usually refer to as "our" program. As you're cleary a protagonistic outsider, I don't include you as a part of "our" program. I will continue. I am an acquaintance of this young man. I spoke to him after he was struck. He and the bachelor partiers know that I know who is who among St. Bonaventure basketball team, and I would have no problem pointing out any of them, had anything actually happened. But nothing involving them happened. Neither the defendant nor any bachelor partiers said a word to me about anything that allegedly involved any St. Bonaventure basketball players. Many others on this board who I saw ay Younger's will confirm this. Now let's get real. I'm sorry this happened, just as all in the Bona and Olean community should be. But there's a combined total of one Bona player who fits that description, and if that player did such, it wouldn't take an hour, let alone a week, for it to get around town. Rest assured, RipReilly, he never did. So there you have it. Above is my subponea, RipReilly. And when envious yellowspines like yourself muster the cowardous creativity, let me know how a kid from town getting hit has anything to do with the signing of junior college talent. Good night.

Jason has broken bones in his face and you say NOTHING will happen ? R U kidding me !
The bones didn't get broken by themselves. SOMEBODY hit him - SOMEBODY will have to answer for it.
R U saying it was NOT a basketball player ? If not, then fine, WHOEVER it was needs to step forward and answer these charges.
The 'incident' occured a week ago, maybe you thought it was all innocent back then, and that is OK to attack someone in a bar without provocation. Jason filed the police report a week after the incident, when he discovered the extent of his injuries. His description of his attacker can only lead one to believe it was a member of the basketball team, who were admittedly in attendance at the bar that night.
IF it was a basketball player, we don't want thugs like this on our team.
IF it was NOT a basketball player, I'll apologize and go away for good.

Ok, some facts about that night. I was part of the bachelor party. We had just gotten there. We were not a raucous bunch, may have been loud but we were not out of control. My friend got punched and did not see who did it and the kid ran out of the bar down behind Topps. Another friend and I tried to chase the kid down but he had a block head start and we couldn't find him plus when about 8-9 guys come chasing after the two of us asking why we were chasing their friend we had to call the search off. Some of these guys were on the basketball team. So, LumsdnA10Academc98 if you should know who actually punched my friend, I ask you to please help us out. My friend has to undergo surgery and his bills are piling up. Maybe it was a bball player or maybe one of their friends, but Jason really needs to find out. I am sure there are others at Youngers that saw what happened and can define this guy so if anybody knows who this guy was please help us out.

That's unfortunate what has happened. I never would have figured, based on my brief exchange in front of the Younger's pool table, that things would be so bad. It looked like Jason's eye was swollen (swelling), and I asked, in passing, what the hell happened and he just sorta shrugged. Neither of us were in any shape to discuss anything, but if he or his friends thought it was a ball player, I think they would have said something. I hope whoever did this meets their fate. IF it was NOT a basketball player, I'll apologize and go away for good. Will you really "go away for good," or just change your screen name again, poster formerly known as ripreilly755? Maybe Bona91 should hold you to that. Your departure would be a monumental step in creating a hater-free board. Time will tell, but I've got a feeling. Yeah he found out a couple days ago that his eye socket was fractured so now he has to get it fixed. Let's hope it wasn't one of the bball players and was just a friend of theirs, but either way Jason needs to find out.

Just because someone is African American in Youngers does NOT mean that they play basketball at SBU!!! Now, ripreilly is one of the biggest haters in Bandwagon history, and his posts have never brought anything to the table outside of throwing jabs at our players (obviously one of them byrd dogged his girl). Once this gets proven, ripreilly AND oleanhuskies (the Bandwagon's version of Mankind and Dude Love) can finally REST... IN... PEACE!

Dabonnies I hope that wasn't intended towards me. I do know that there were several basketball players in attendance that night and they know who was involved in the altercation. No racial profiling needed to come up with this one. Hard to mess up the identity of a 6'10" white guy, they sort of stick out. And no he wasn't the one who punched my friend.
