Hearing that many of the dorm rooms were downright filthy for freshmen move in. Also broken furniture, busted wall sockets, etc.. Lots of frosh parents are mad as hell. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to go through an extensive effort of recruiting new students only to greet them with a filthy mess and expect them to live in it. Hey Dr.DePerro...you got your ears on? This just sucks and needs to be corrected.

What do you mean by "many" exactly? How many rooms were an issue?
What do you mean by broken furniture? Having some things broken isn't unusual at most schools. This is because the kids who move out try to hide the damage and it is rarely brought to the attention of anyone while the summer maintenance is done because no one is using it.
What do you mean by filthy? Do you mean that the rooms are due for a fresh coat of paint? Or do you mean that there was a layer of dirt in the room?
Where did you hear this? From a parent moving their child in? Or from someone that works in student housing?

1.) So far at least 30 rooms have been noted.....more to come.
2.) Drawers broken apart and dressers/desks not usable. Chairs with wobbly legs. Torn bedding. Bare wires. Broken wall sockets. Plugged sinks. Leaking sinks. Insects.
3.)Heavy layers of dirt and grime...particularly on floors. Dried spills. Pieces of food. Empty wrappers. Old clothing and footwear.

Understand that it is primarily Dev, Rob and Loughlin. Sad. Facilities clearly dropped the ball. Parents are really pissed.

Facilities and maintenance are working on fixing the issues including torn mattresses.
