I was surprised to see that SBUnfurled said we lost by 15. I heard that we lost but that it was a close game. Considering that a 15 points difference doesn't seem "close", I'm guessing the score was run up a bit towards the end of the game with a weird lineup or other oddities in these scrimmages. No concern here.

To save everyone a scroll: 88. St. Bonaventure: Nine Bonnies are freshmen or sophomores, making Mark Schmidt's assembly the wild card of the Atlantic 10. The rest of the A-10 19. Davidson 27. VCU 37. Dayton 68. Rhode Island 88. St. Bonaventure 123. George Mason 125. Richmond 137. Duquesne 177. Saint Louis 186. George Washington 196. UMass (behind UMass Lowell) 205. Fordham 238. La Salle 263. St. Joseph's And because this is more fun and relevant than fretting about the secret scrimmage, here's our non-conference schedule: 282. Ohio 76. Vermont 232. Siena 72. Rutgers 332. Canisius 278. Mercer 168. San Diego 128. UIC / 136. Florida Atlantic 159. Hofstra UR. Gannon 318. Niagara 247. Middle Tennessee 154. Buffalo Mississipi Valley State is last overall.

I still don't get why there aren't all-session books for the Brooklyn Fan Zone, but there are for all the other sections. Maybe because of stuff they do like the Thursday afternoon middle school field trip session? Either way, no incentive for buying them early unless you wanted super prime/VIP.

Is Canisius really THAT bad? Yes, yes they are. That is an indubitable truth.

FWIW, Bilas ranks Davidson #15 and VCU #17 in his "Bilas Ranking" index. Dayton clocks in at #29. Some love for the A10! www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/28006190/jay-bilas-1-68-college-basketball-rankings-2019-20-preseasonEarly season viewing guide also listed Vermont @ St. Bonaventure as a game to watch: 5. Vermont Catamounts at St. Bonaventure Bonnies (Friday, 7 p.m. ET) A vital early-season game? Check. A chance to watch a superstar? Check. As the heavy favorite in the America East and coming off an impressive showing against Florida State in the NCAA tournament, Vermont enters this season with an immediate opportunity to boost its résumé. The Catamounts travel to western New York to face the Bonnies, who were selected fifth in the A-10 preseason coaches' poll. As for the star, Vermont's Anthony Lamb (21.2 PPG, 7.8 RPG) is expected to once again be one of the most productive players in the nation. He should have plenty of more help this season, though, as Stef Smith is back as another double-digit scorer, Everett and Robin Duncan should take leaps forward and former Ohio State and Alabama big Daniel Giddens provides necessary Power 5 experience.

My wife works at the University of Dayton and was told yesterday morning by a reliable source in UD Athletics that the first sell out of UD's basketball season was the St. Bonaventure game. See the article below but which doesn't give the order of the sell out. daytonflyers.com/news/2019/11/4/mens-basketball-ud-announces-st-bonaventure-saint-louis-rhode-island-games-are-already-sellouts.aspxThere's already chatter in Dayton about the Bonnies' game and the Osun vs. Obi match up and Lofton vs. Rodney Chatman. Astute and knowledgeable basketball fans here in Dayton, although I hate to admit it. Also, there will be lots of NBA scouts at this game. Speaking of this game, I am going to try and get at least 4-6 extra tickets (lower level) through my UD connections to provide to fellow Bonnies' fans/alums that will be making the trip. I'll confirm in a separate post/thread once I confirm that I have the tickets (likely the end of this month or beginning of next month). If I get the tickets free, they are yours for free or if I pay face value, they are yours at face value, first come first serve. Just message me. Also, and although the timing stinks with it being a Wednesday night game, I may look into renting out the upstairs of Jimmy's Ladder 11 bar from 3-6 p.m. for a pre-game get together for Bonnies' fans. I'll create a separate post as the game gets closer to see if there's any interest.
