Colorado State has pulled out of the Paradise Jam. They will now be playing in the MGM main event in Vegas.
The remaining field:
St. Bonaventure (A-10) Bradley (MVC) Long Beach State (Big West) FIU (CUSA) Weber State (Big Sky) Buffalo (MAC) Cleveland State (Horizon League)
The Paradise Jam has used two formats in its tenure.
1. The traditional 8 team tournament with three games. 2. A 6 team event consisting of pool play (two pools of three teams) and a cross over game matching teams from the two pools based on how they finish in their pool.
So they could add another team (which they are expected to do--probably Air Force, Fresno State, San Jose State, or Wyoming) or they could release one team from the event and go to the six team format.

Colorado St was probably the best team of that group, no?

Don’t think the tournament will happen.
Dr Fauci is suggesting this virus comes back in the fall. A trip to the Virgin Islands during that time seems unlikely. Maybe it’s for the best, Weber St doesn’t exactly pump anyone up

Hmmm, the same Weber State that just got a commitment from DARWESHI HUNTER that the BONNIES had offered?

Tweet from SBUUnfurled re Jon Rothstein reporting news Paradise Jam will not be played in VI, Nashville and Phoenix as alternate site options:
"Here's some news on the Paradise Jam. It was scheduled to begin Friday, November 20 and conclude on Monday, November 23. These dates would obviously move back if the NCAA approves a November 25 start date."

What is the status of the Paradise Jam now that the NCAA ruled college basketball can start November 25?

Even without Colorado State, the Jam still has a legit lineup and I really question that we could get two games of equal competition quickly enough to justify pulling out of this event and even though DC is no VI, it’s still a worthy and interesting place to visit.

I’m confused. 3 weeks ago there was a very good chance we were playing NO basketball this year ?
Now we’re shi!!ing on the fact that the players have to play in DC instead. Maybe I’m wrong, I bet they’re excited to be playing.
I’m excited they’re playing. Beats the alternative.

Still a good tourney field and my comment was simply tongue in cheek regarding the location and politics. Not to belabor the point, personally I think DC 3-4 weeks post election shenanigans would be about the last place on earth I’d want to be. I like this tourney and the potential opponents and I’m sure team is quite excited to have a somewhat solid season start date as are we all.

I’ll try to relax. But with sports all f’d up, and an election around the corner, I promise nothing.
