Saw this on Twitter earlier: John Templon of of @nybuckets tweeted: "I also took a long look at St. Bonaventure yesterday. If I had any faith that the NIT committee actually took injuries into account I would feel okay about their NIT hopes. Though its worth noting that their best win (N-RUTGERS) came without key players."

I'd say so. Best scenario sans Dance Bona can ask for.

It is the only option 'sans Dance' since Bona's won't pay for any of the pay-to-play post season tourneys

With the youth of the BONNIES, if the CBI does turnout to be their only post season, perhaps this would be the year to do it.

I don't disagree but it would take you and Victor Sifuentes signing over all your residual checks to do it.

As sad as it sounds I was watching Stanford versus Washington state last night and it was quite evident to me that our boys would slap Stanford around easily - identical records - we always talk about circumstances (see Syracuse a few years ago) and also the fact that the team is different from the one that started the year - if anyone were really watching they would understand just how good we are getting - lunardi announced the St Joes game I believe so he knows. Post season NIT. Should be - but who knows, aggravated ramblings 🤔

No CBI or CIT. Bona is not in the pay to play business. Sans Dance, NIT or nada.

Are we looking at potential Bona-Cuse NIT matchup? Rather Our Guys play some other team.

Are we looking at potential Bona-Cuse NIT matchup? Rather Our Guys play some other team. A co-worker Cuse grad said that just the other day. Personally, I would love for that to happen. We'll play other teams in rounds 2 and on.

No CBI or CIT. Bona is not in the pay to play business. Sans Dance, NIT or nada. If we don’t get into the NIT, assuming we don’t win the tourney, then we should absolutely pay to play. Getting these young guys several more games can only be a good thing for next year.

I disagree with all due respect. The end of conference tournament play is the jumping off point for countless college hoop teams. Only a select 100 will compete in the NCAA or NIT tourneys. For the great majority of non-qualifiers, it's time to pack the gear away, call it a season (which now extends four full months from reg season start to the end of league tournaments), students hit the books in earnest and coaches recruit.
These pay to play tournaments only benefit those few who run them...not the teams. There is no prestige from winning a CBI or a CIT, and frankly, I see no merit whatsoever in extending the season unless teams qualify either for the Dance or NIT. There, it's single elimination. Win and advance, or lose and go home.
If the Bonnies fall short of the 100 I mentioned, applaud them for a very successful campaign and the effort they put forth. But that's where the road should end.

I think the NIT is very unlikely, even though we obviously are at the level. The bubble is just too big in general. And they have that stupid rule whereby if you finish in 1st place in the Cupcake Conference or the Paddycake Conference you get an autobid to the NIT that takes spots. The A10 already has teams like VCU, Richmond (thanks to us) and St. Louis that are outside the gate of the Dance and likely headed to the NIT. 32 spots, they aren't gonna take 4 from the A10. -- I think our chances of winning in Brooklyn, where we always play well, and stamping the dance card, is the same or better than our chances of getting an NIT invite. Especially if we end up with the 2 or 3 seed. That would mean evening games in front of half or more the living alumni base and not meeting Dayton until the finals. Get there and see what happens. But you gotta finish strong here to get there

I agree that the NIT is a long shot at this point but no one that i have found puts more thought into who is in / out of the NIT than Templon. If he is saying we have a chance I have to believe him.

Let's say the Bonnies win out to the final game and are 24-9. But they would be 23-5 in the last 28 games. One would hope that would mean something - alas I think it probably won't unless somehow someone with clout realized this amazing statistic and could understand that the first five games were a growing/anomoly. I know the system doesn't work that way but we would have one of the best records from December onward. An NIT push should be made by the powers that be and the Atlantic 10 brass, at least.
