How do you know that guy will all come back? I would be willing to bet that at least a couple of them transfer. I don't think they are happy playing for him.

Because the vast majority of those kids quit on him, and I believe a run to the portal will happen for several unless he is replaced now.
You do realize Fleming has had four years to prove he can't coach his way out of a paper bag, right?

I still don't get the "Hate on Fleming" bandwagon. He was Crowley's top assistant and was instrumental in Crowley's success. Ask Crowley. Jesse was forced to rebuild after Crowley departed. Let him finish out his contract and see if there is any signs of improvement next year. Harris will be the top player on next year's team along with a good core of players coming back. Go Bonnies! If I cared enough I could go find this tread from last year and everyone calling for his head now agreed that this year was the year we were hoping to see improvement/signs of life and that didn't happen. You can be instrumental as an assistant but be a bad head coach. Look at any number of assistants on great teams that when they branch out on their own they fail only to be an assistant again. Let him finish out the contract who really cares they already killed off whatever fanbase they grew over the last half of Crowley's tenure.

judging by the results and body language of some of the players...the head coach has lost the team...time will tell if he can get the ship back on course..it should be an interesting off season...in a year or two the sbu women's LAX team will be a powerhouse...

IF he lost the team you simply cannot bring him back. I don't know enough to know if he has but judging by the posts here, it looks like maybe

Navy just fired the all time winningest coach in their WBB history after just two 7-23 seasons. Bring Coach Pemper up here for an interview TK. Never finished under 3rd place in 8 of her 12 seasons there.

The mistake TK made was letting Crowley go. There wasn't much of an effort to keep him ($$). He was a good fit for SBU. It's easier to recruit when you're winning and have a track record of success and commitment to the school. Of course all this is obvious to everyone here. It may be that he'll be available soon: friars.com/sports/womens-basketball/schedule

TK will not let Jesse go. The funds to pay two coaches are just not there, even for 1 year. The same goes for keeping Crowley. He was being paid +/- 160k. To keep him would cost what, north of $250k? Well I guess if you can pay that to the Dean of the business school, why not the women’s basketball coach?

Well I guess if you can pay that to the Dean of the business school, why not the women’s basketball coach? I don't know what Providence offered him but Susan Robinson Fruchtl who he replaced was making nearly $400k a year. I got the feeling they were willing to pay more than they had been to bring him in. Bonas can't compete with that kind of money for women's basketball. He had been courted by programs for a while. Even if there was a big fundraising to try to keep him it would have only been a stop gap. And you're going to the same well for everything Bonas needs. The reality is that it wasn't a wise use to limited resources to try to give him what he was worth.

Jesse "Rasputin" Fleming...can't finish him off!
Guess TK will let the contract play out. Last chance, Jessuh. Maybe better kids coming in, but can they mesh?

Jesse "Rasputin" Fleming...can't finish him off! Guess TK will let the contract play out. Last chance, Jessuh. Maybe better kids coming in, but can they mesh? OHS thank you for the Rasputin reference. It made me laugh knowing how much you want Fleming to be replaced. Incoming class looks good. He added much needed size with 6'3" I'yanna Lops (will be tallest player on the team) and 6'0" Tori Harris. The 2 freshmen recruits also have good size for guards with 5'11" Morgan Gentile and 5'10" Maddie Dziezgowski, who are both 1,000 point scorers. Additional information -- Tori Harris was named "2017 Long Island Player of the Year." As a sophomore on a solid 29-6 James Madison team, Tori averaged 10.1 minutes of playing time. -- Morgan Gentile as a freshman was named WETM's 18 Sports Female Winter MVP. She averaged over 20 ppg at Troy, Pa. Morgan transferred to Elmira, NY. This year Elmira Express was ranked 5th in the state for large schools and had a 20-1 record. Morgan averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game at Elmira, which is impressive considering the talent on her team. Morgan had 2 teammates, who received DI scholarships at Syracuse and Marist. I agree with OHS73, Jesse Fleming has brought in more talent, but can he get them to mesh? jmusports.com/sports/womens-basketball/stats/2018-19

Attached is OTH article from Jeff Madigan "Fleming looking to push forward with Bona women." Following is brief summary of interview with Jesse Fleming. -- Tentative starting lineup; Emily Calabrese, Star Fitzgerald-Greer, Tori Harris, Asianae Johnson and Deja Francis. -- “We tried to get longer, bigger; you look at the numbers we really got beat up on the boards,” Fleming said in aiming to improve a minus-6 rebounding margin from last year.“ -- Emily will be the center. Star at PF and Tori at small forward. -- Fleming said. “Maybe I’m being too optimistic but I’m envisioning an eight or nine rotation that can be a little bit more consistent and not relying on having people play above their abilities." -- It appears Fleming is expecting Tori Harris will be the star of the team. "We’re hoping to play Tori at (small forward) and put a 6-foot wing out there. Tori is a really good player and we expect a ton out of her. She’s a scorer and that will be her job. She’s a very different player than we’ve had the last two years, a very different skill set." www.oleantimesherald.com/olean/fleming-looking-to-push-forward-with-bona-women/article_97de4e4d-512b-51be-b938-61753e125b5b.htmlGo Bonnies 2020-21 roster gobonnies.sbu.edu/sports/w-baskbl/2020-21/roster

Finally he might have some better talent to work with. But he has no more get out of jail free cards left to play. Fleming has to move the needle upward or see ya.
Good article on Crowley in the OTH today. All his assistants played at Bona and he he praised their abilities as coaches and examples as role models.
