There is more to this rule, I believe the revenue sports have the sit one rule, while, the other sports do not. Also i believe the ncaa is concerned about a law suit, and finally what is really best for the student athlete? There is no clear cut answer.

A few years ago the Women's team had a player by the name of Miranda Drummond. when Crowley left, she decided to transfer, she had 2 more years.of eligibility. She transferred to Syracuse, which had her preferred major, in the medical field.
When I first met her during summer school, there she was in the dining hall reading her biology text book. She was very smart.
She got 2 years of free education at Bona, then 3 years of free education at Syracuse, in her field that was not offered at Bona. If you want to treat the Student Athlete correctly, give them the extra free year of education, so let them sit.. that includes the grad transfer.

Also i believe the ncaa is concerned about a law suit, and finally what is really best for the student athlete? NCAA being proactive to a law suit? NCAA doing what is best for the student athlete? This doesn't sound like the NCAA that I know.

Sorry, I was antsy, just needed something to write about.
I saw that Boston College signed James Kranik from Lehigh. We were probably never in the running for the 6'8" big body grad transfer.
Speaking of big bodies, St Louis signed yet another, 6'9" 230 guy from Oregon, they had just added a 6'8" 250 transfer Fromm UNCW. I think they could field a team of just big guys. Our day will come.

St.Louis....size matters if you cam play the game with skill. I like our chances with Doule O and Shaw. Let's see how they handle our guard tandems.

this from Jeff Goodman on Twitter
NCAA Board of Directors have recommended to the Council that changes to the waiver process as suggested by the working group are not appropriate at this time.
I suppose this is more about context, but it sounded positive.

I saw that James Jean-Marie has entered the transfer portal and is looking for his...4th school! I am not sure if he is exactly what we need as he is not a backup pg or your typical big man. He is undersized but I think he could be a stretch 4 for us and he has an old school type of game to him and has a solid mid range game and can knock down the 3 if needed. He also looks like he would bring toughness. We even got to see him live last season as we played them in Boca. He had a decent game against us with 8 points on 4-6 fg, 6 rebounds, 2 ast in 30 minutes. San Diego was very down at 9-23 (2-14 WCC) but he was definitely a contributor and played well against Gonzaga going for 10pts and 5 rebs. Here are highlights of him from this past season. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWZLIAMZENM&feature=youtu.be***We offered Jean-Marie July 30th, 2018. I am not sure if he is eligible right away as a grad transfer and he is from Montreal so maybe he would want to return closer to home for his final season. Being at 3 schools may have delayed his graduation process with credits but again I am not sure. *** Other offers he had when he chose San Diego was St. Bonaventure, North Texas, Oregon State, East Carolina, Texas State, Texas-Rio Grande Valley, and Florida International. Do you think the BONA staff will "kick the tires" on Cincinnati transfer PRINCE TOYAMBI? PRINCE is 6-7 225. PRINCE was part of LAQUILL HARDNETT's freshman class but was red shirted. Then last TOYAMBI underwent a heart procedure and took a medical redshirt. A poster on the BEARCATS board said PRINCE would have 4 years of eligibility. But another poster said TOYAMBI has not been medically cleard by Cincinnati. Obvious huge red flags medically, let alone alot of rust to shake off, but when healthy TOYAMBI has alot of physicality and plays around the basket. If BONA cleared and took him, PRINCE could take CARPENTER's minutes from last year, this would really ease him back.

The only link here is a different guy we recruited who signed elsewhere and then transferred elsewhere? And he has a heart condition that Cinci won’t clear him from?
