ROBERTS just completed his sophomore year, ANTHONY averaged 12.7 points per game, 2.4 assists, 76.5 from the Free Throw line. ROBERTS shot 36.3 beyond the 3 pt line this year after shooting 28.6 percent the year before. ANTHONY is 6-4 and from Detroit. if memory serves didn't ROBERTS visit BONA 2 yrs ago?

Taffy, your memory is correct , we offered two years ago. Henry Ford hs in Detroit. Detroit fee press all city, All state second team class B. The staff I think we were looking at a number guys, he visited with someone else and we kept waiting to hear something, but we never did. The free press talked about his shot and his toughness as I recall. Looking at his play with Kent state this year he came on torward the end of the year and then didn’t t play for a couple of games. In that late stretch he scored 23 vs ub in 2ot loss. I’m guessing he would know Jaren and rob and likely Jalen our current transfer from the Mac. It would look like a log jam at guard, but maybe somebody knows something. I think Anthony would sit for a year anyway.

I watched Anthony Roberts audition for a scholarship. I was with Sipo and another poster, who prefers to remain anonymous. Melki and Jalen Pickett were also auditioning for Schmidt. I thought Anthony clearly was the most athletic of the 3 and also had the best offensive skills. Following are a couple comments I posted from the attached link (2018 Recruiting page 36). -- Anthony Roberts looked a little smaller than I expected. He is a very good ball handler with some impressive one on one moves, which created open jump shots. Unlike what I've read, Anthony was much more of a jump shooter than taking it to the basket. Anthony was impressive with his stroke. He could score as a catch and shoot guard or off the dribble. Anthony did not do much at start of game, but he really turned it up later on. Overall Anthony was impressive. Melki was much more easy going, while Anthony seemed more focused. FWIW I would rank them Anthony, Melki and then Pickett. Schmidt has 4 scholarships, so I can see him using them on Anthony and Melki. -- Being a 4 year player Anthony has time to develop. I think he displayed A-10 talent. As Sipo stated he needs to work on his defense. Also needs to add some muscle. One thing Anthony already has is a solid jumper and some impressive offensive skills. bonabandwagon.proboards.com/thread/14472/2018-recruiting?page=36

Chuck's observation of ROBERTS being more of a J shooter was demonstrated at Kent St.
He took only 70 FTs (77%) in his 30 games played. 42% of his shots were TREYS (36%). 44% FGs shows he was effective inside the arc.

ANTHONY ROBERTS 6'4/190 SG, video of the first half of his soph season at Kent State youtu.be/m3Oqc79M1SU29mpg, 13 ppg, 44%FGs, 37% TREYS, 79% FTs, 2.9 rebs, 2.4 assists, Comparing video of his senior year in HS to his play at Kent State I see he has greatly improved finishing with his left hand at the rim.

I didn’t t get the link, but if you goggle Kent st vs ub basketball 2.21.2020, you can watch a game highlights reel. It s more than just Anthony Roberts, but you can see what he is capable of offensively.

I see where Ed Croswell, who left LaSalle just before our game (which according to the knowledgeable posters on this Board, guaranteed we would beat them) is on his way to Providence. verbalcommits.com/players/ed-croswell

Former BONNIES' target is on the market again. Started at OHIO, then went to COLORADO STATE, now leaving there. Normally red flag waving here, but TEYVION averaged 14.4 ppg along with 5.5 rebounds.

Did you guys expect Pickett to do as well as he has at Siena ? Melki did not do much with his time at Bona. I see Pickett was thinking about NBA but will return to Siena.

COREYEVANSTWITTER is reporting several schools have reached out to ST. PETER's transfer AARON ESTRADA and ST. BONAVENTURE is not on that list. Also, sorry WGT, COREY has a list of E J ANOSIKE's final 7 potential landing sites, and ST. BONAVENTURE is not on that list either.
