Former OTH Sports writer SHAWN CAMPBELL just tweeted: "Matt Pappano said the BONNIES were finalizing contracts to host two mid majors that won their leagues in 2019-20. FWIW, he said that would leave 2 games to fill and at least one would be a Power 5." One of the 2 mid major champions that the Bonnies will be playing next season is Colgate, the Patriot league champion. They will be coming to the Reilly Center in early December.

Ask Cincinnati what they think of Colgate.
Now, with that said, if Jordan Burns doesn't come back, Colgate will have lost its top 3 scorers, 2 top rebounders and 3 of its four leading assist men from last year. I expect that Burns will be back, though, unless he wants to play in the G league, assuming there's a season.

The Power 5 team the Bonnies end up playing will probably be Syracuse. That's OK, as they are ACC. But I would prefer to have a state university out of the Big 10.

Why would a state school out of the Big10 be preferred over a game with Syracuse?? The ACC is rated higher and we have a ton of alumni that could attend and enjoy a Syracuse game.

Ohio State is currently involved with 3 of the top 5 2021 recruits in the Toronto area and Maryland is involved with at least 2 of these recruits. It seems playing either in Toronto would make sense, but given the present state of the world, this could be difficult even if one of those schools would consider a game in Toronto.

I sure as hell DO hope it is the Orange we play...and make it TWO years in a row....That would be GREAT so we can send their fans home TWO straight seasons, and three out of four games with Bonnies' victories at the DOME....

Jon Rothstein tweeted: "Sources: Several power conference programs are putting stipulations in guarantee games for next season that if no fans are in attendance, the mid major school will only get travel expenses and not the normal guarantee. Anothereffect of Coronavirus."

If there is no attendance for college football, non revenue sports may not have scholarship athletes. May revert to club status.

I've been puzzled by some of the antipathy re the Paradise Jam field. Bradley is the defending Valley champion, solid mid-major. Weber State among the Big Sky elite. The Beach plays one of the most competitive schedules annually. Throw in Cleve St and our probation pal UB and it's a decent field. Not too shabby, I'd say.
