Had NELSON hit that one TREY to win the A10 Championship he would have gone down in Bona history.
That single shot was ENORMOUS and one he will never forget.
This season I felt that announcers made very little of BONA having played in the conference championship and was one final winning shot from the conference title.

How about the following surprising stats from Bobby. -- Bobby was 5th in minutes played at 20.6 mpg. An impressive accomplishment when you consider Bobby had to earn his PT against an extremely talented freshman. Justin lived up to the hype of being a 4 star recruit by leading Bonnies in scoring at 17.2 points per 40 minutes. Over 40 minutes Justin averaged just 1.1 rebounds less than Dom (7.8 to 6.7). -- Bobby averaged more rebounds per 40 minutes than Dom (8.2 to 7.8). We all know Bobby lacks A-10 athleticism, but did you know Jaren weighs more than Bobby. This makes it difficult to understand how Bobby is such a good rebounder. -- Bobby struggled shooting from behind the arc, but only Osun had a better shooting percentage inside the arc. For 2 pointers Bobby shot 49.4%. It is really impressive when you consider Bobby did not have the advantage of many high percentage shots like Osun. How did a scrawny PF, who lacked A-10 athleticism accomplish the above? Bobby had hard to explain intangibles, which Schmidt appreciated more than fans, which includes me. -- I've seen Bobby battle for rebounding position and then all of a sudden back up. Shot hits the rim and bounces to high for his opponent, but bounces to him for the rebound. -- I've seen Bobby being out behind the arc and all of a sudden he charges to the basket seemingly knowing where the ball will bounce for a long rebound. -- I've seen Bobby unable to get a rebound, but he is able to tap it out to a teammate. I remember Wes Unseld (3rd all time rebound leader in the NBA) was asked how a short 6'7" center was so good at rebounding. Unseld said he had a feel to where the ball is going to bounce off the rim. Well Bobby had this skill. -- I've seen Bobby get a big center on him and instinctively knows he can take him off the dribble. Or see him posting up a small guard. -- There have been several high-low passes or back door passes where he has been both the passer and the recipient. I can't think of another player who battled as hard with boxing out than Bobby. Or a player who hustled as much. Overall Bobby's great instincts and hustle helped him to overachieve. www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/st-bonaventure/2020.html

I know it was mentioned in another thread, but we have this one, so I am adding it here.....Bobby has transferred to Purdue Fort Wayne....it is Division 1, formally known as Indiana University.....which was in the Summit League, but is moving to the Horizon League for the next season. It is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Good luck Boca Bobby.

Hopefully this will be a very good match for Bobby. Purdue Fort Wayne joined Div 1 in 2001 and was 14-19 last season.
I expect he will get more mins than he would have at Bona on a team who's top rebounder grabbed only 4.9 a game. They have recent history of being a high scoring team but they struggled last year putting up points.
I join all who wish him the very best.

With Bobby going to Fort Wayne, it reminded me of my younger days watching the NBA, with such teams as the Fort Wayne Pistons (now Detroit Pistons), the Syracuse Nationals (now the Philadelphia 76ers.....who once had the Warriors who went to San francisco) and the Rochester Royals (who went to Cincinnati, then to Kansas City now the Sacramento Kings).
Bona's own Billy Kenville was drafted and played for the Syracuse nationals......1953
