I am almost three months post-transplant and doing very well. Don't even need a cane anymore bc I can walk about freely, incl brisk 20-min jaunts in the neighborhood. All five biopsies so far on the top peg.
I've enjoyed reading all the Bona nostalgia stories during the quarantine, takes me home to the area I love most. Can't wait for this upcoming hoop season, just hope the squad will be at full strength from the get-go.
Pls take care and stay safe. I'm starving for a Burton Burger!
Guys like Nick Saban and Joel Embiid speak about "the process." There were many steps taken before 2/27, and even more following transplant. If I mind my p's and q's and follow the protocols, I can extend my life another 15 to 20 years.
Having gone through this alters one's perspective about what is most important, and I'm certain you know what they are. Aside from daily exercise, the med regimen I follow is to the letter. I never miss taking immunos twice a day bc that is where it all starts. Self-discipine and following basic instructions are vital. Staying positive has moved my progress ahead of the curve.
Since I was admitted 2/5, in essence I have been in quarantine, 52 days at HUP/rehab and the next two months at home. But I have faith that the crisis will wane and we all can return for a measure of normalcy.
