Wasn't Mr. Zachary on our campus several times for unofficial visits/pick up games? I seem to recall videos of him on the RC court on social media back in his HS days in the Syracuse area. Also, didn't UB hire his juco coach as an assistant?

Maybe the culture hasn't changed at all. I'm sure this could be blamed on systemic racism.

The tweet says it was a pick up game but the news story, citing the police says it was a scrimmage between UB and Canisius.
Which was it because that’s a pretty big difference

I wondered why the victim wasn't named and I got my answer in today's BN. Simply put, it didn't fit the narrative. The stabbed victim is Scott Hitchon, a White kid. Me thinks this would have been a much bigger story if the roles had been reversed.

Mr. Zachery said his son has a shoulder injury from the fracass, possibly a torn labrum, and fears his son may have ended his basketball career.

Two years ago we had some footage filmed by the players dad, of a campus visit we had a couple of recruits. Why I remember it was that we rarely get to see this kind of footage. I actually thought it was pretty cool, I guess I'm basketball deprived. One of the players was a big from Utah, that was down to Iona, us and State. He ended up at Kstate. I don't remember the name of the other recruit, he might have been an underclassman. The two things that stick out in my mind were one, great jump shooter, I don't remember him missing that much, now that could be because his dad was editing, the other thing was the kid played his hs ball at West Genesee. If the story is true, with respect to what happened to Zachery that's really tough news.
