Weird because we have quadry adams and rumpel but it can't hurt to have great guards. I watched aberdeen highlights and i don't know... the kid flex's, jaws and even tells defensive players to stay down after he scores layups. Highly recruited but extremely cocky. Schmidt staff seems to grab guys that fit the underdog mold and they come and work their butts off to get better. who knows. maybe he's a great kid. just my opinion on his highlights.

Lenape Basketball is reporting 6'PG DEREK SIMPSON of Lenape HS Medford NJ has been offered by ST. BONAVENTURE. Sounds like our kind of guy based on this report I found: Cerebral, lanky point guard with above-average athleticism; Simpson sees the floor really well and thinks out his decisions, rarely getting himself out of place. A strong 3-point shooter, he also has a variety of weapons around the hoop, including a reliable floater and pull-up jumper. Needs to get stronger to be ready for the physicality of the next level but he's toolsy and smart. Best days are still ahead of him. (Last updated: May 4, 2021) |
