Great get. UNI was not good this past season, but are typically at the top of the MVC.
Eight top three finishes in conference play since 2008.

JOHN ROTHSTEIN is reporting ST. BONAVENTURE and Northern Iowa will begin a home and away series starting this year at the RC. This is great. A really good program and a big game for the RC. It is great to see that the efforts for only neutral site and home/home deals is yielding such a quality schedule. It is a testament to the hard work of the staff and paying their dues for years. You have to crawl before you can walk and the building of the program the right way is starting to yield the scheduling we have always wanted. In time we will get even better home/home deals (Rochester/Buffalo or even RC).

Thought I would mention the teams Northern Iowa has schedule home/home deals with in the last 10 years:
- George Mason - Grand Canyon - Iowa - Milwaukee - North Carolina - Old Dominion - Richmond - St. Mary's - VCU - Xavier
They have had a history of getting good games. Last year they were in the Battle 4 Atlantis for the second time (cancelled and moved to SD due to Covid).

So bona loses to N.I. What does that do for bona...On the other hand if they win, it’s a......footnote? UNI is worthy of a home/home. They are a well coached program that has had a lot of success. In the last 10 years they have been in the top-75 of KenPom 5 times: - #49 (2020) - NCAA Cancelled - #67 (2016) - NCAA Second Round (Beat Texas, Lost to Texas A&M in 2OT) - #18 (2015) - NCAA Second Round (Beat Wyoming, lost to Louisville) - #68 (2013) - no post season - #75 (2012) - NIT Second Round UNI should be good this coming season and the following year. They are well respected. This is a big game.

This is a nice get. Maybe not an eye popping game but is a game that won't hurt us at all and can only help. Pretty good chance it can't be a bad loss if we did lose it and will help the SOS compared to our usual home OOC schedule. Plus the return game has Quad 1 potential in 2022.

Love adding UNI... here's the question we should ask ourselves: do we want UNI in a home-and-home or Hofstra/Ohio at home? The answer is the former, as UNI is a better program in a better conference.

I attended the annual Golf with the Bonnies outing yesterday at Bartlett Country Club. Coach Schmidt confirmed during his brief talk after the golf that they will be playing UConn in New Jersey this coming season. He either didn't say, or I didn't catch, where specifically.

It's my understanding that it will be at the Prudential Center in Newark... I haven't heard anything about a specific date tho.

Yes, Prudential Center in Newark. Imagine all the NYC metro Bona alumni who could be on hand. Be like a home game.
