Hell will freeze over before Ohio state lets Cincy in the Big 10 and Penn St lets Pitt in. I think the Big 10 stands pat, and if they add it will not be either of those teams. Nothing available for them to get that moves the needle as far as money goes. I could possibly see them grabbing Kansas. What will be interesting is what happens to the remnants of the Big 12. Do the 8 schools left add some combination of Cincy, Houston, Memphis, UCF, or SMU from the AAC? BYU? Or does the Pac 12 grab 4 of those teams? Shouldn’t affect the A10, unless Wichita St. wants to leave the AAC if it gets raided, and even then I’m not sure the A-10 would want them because of distance.

Then they would be called the Big 8. Oh wait, that's what they used to be.

ok...i have no horse in the race...just sharing what is on the airwaves out here in chicago...pitt is a logical choice as penn state is a crappy trip for most big ten schools and it would help if they could play wednesday night at psu and friday night at pitt...that is how most conferences do things...especially for the non $$ sports

The Big 10 is taking whichever school can make them the most money. That is not Pitt. What do they bring to the table that Penn state hasn’t already?

This would lead to the Big 12's extermination. It will be four power conferences of 16 schools each, fb and bkb driven. A gilded golden path for those schools in that upper 64. The rest will be on their own.

OU & Texas to SEC is first and foremost a football move. In the age of recent NIL rights legislation, it will be a recruiting boon to football-centered conferences and their respective basketball teams. Basketball-heavy conferences like the A-10 will be hurt by this legislation and Super Conference consolidation.

Don’t know if the 16x4 superconferences happen but if they do it’s big trouble for everyone else, football or no football.

Talk of "out of the box" thinking, somewhat delusional, unrealistic, but look at this one, and yes it is a super basketball conference, and we are included....the PACLantic...balance it out to 8 western and 8 eastern and it becomes great fodder to discuss and have fun with.....

Memphis and BYU would probably want to hook up somewhere with football. The concept is good though. In fact, it was proposed that the ACC and PAC 12 do a similar thing in a joint effort rather than expending to 16 teams. It would allow both ample scheduling opportunities and money opps with new TV contracts, as well as national expansion for the players. Overall, this is a good idea for the bball schools, just needs to be refined.

Also, BYU & Boise St seem to be better candidates for PAC-12.

It all looks wonderful… until we realize that we don’t have an AD who could pull it off.

Ignoring the glaring issue with combining basketball and football schools together… I am just baffled at how Fordham made this list of schools while the like of Davidson, Rhode Island, and Richmond were omitted.
