Well, Fordham has an ideal location for great media coverage. It has n antique gym that doesn’t fit contemporary values. As an institution, ports are more a student”activity” than an institutional priority. The surrounding are has a wealth of top flight athletes. If Fordham ever developed a functional program and a modern faci as Duquesne did it could’ve interesting. Look at Georgetown and Gonzaga.

Absolutely with investment and the right coach. Comparing them in any way to a Big East school and a national power in basketball for 20 years is insanity. And media market only means so much when you have 2 football teams, 2 baseball teams, 2 basketball teams, 2 hockey teams, in addition to St John’s, UConn, and Syracuse basketball, and many more. Even if they got good people wouldn’t care.

We should only move to a conference that will be fully vaccinated.

Or a conference where the other schools have no ADs or school Presidents.

ok...i have no horse in the race...just sharing what is on the airwaves out here in chicago...pitt is a logical choice as penn state is a crappy trip for most big ten schools and it would help if they could play wednesday night at psu and friday night at pitt...that is how most conferences do things...especially for the non $$ sports Imho, the B1G should pursue WVU and Okla State if they want to go the superconference route. WVU could develop a rivalry with Maryland, if not PSU. Okla State would be a good partner for Nebraska.

Syracuse should tear down that outdated dome and build a new modern, outdoor stadium. Then they can ask to join the B1G. They should replace it regardless!

To replace that dome stadium would cost $1 billion dollars or more. Even an open air stadium on that site would be hugely expensive. No one has that kind of money in Syracuse, either the county or the university, only New York State could fund that type of capital project. Not likely

Looks like New York is going to find 1.5 billion to build a new stadium for the Bills. Maybe they could convince the contractor to go for a two for one deal-one stadium for the Bills and one for Syracuse. Well, maybe a one and a half for one. Seriously, the Carrier Dome is way past its time, as is Ralph Wilson Stadium

Honestly, I would rather the legislature build a new stadium for Cuse than the Bills.

Maybe they could convince the contractor to go for a two for one deal-one stadium for the Bills and one for Syracuse. Well, maybe a one and a half for one. Seriously, the Carrier Dome is way past its time, as is Ralph Wilson Stadium Since the NYS legislature is now controlled by a socialist NYC cabal the likelyhood of state funding for two billion plus upstate stadiums for Buffalo and the Bills, and Syracuse and the Orange gang is remote at best. Since the Bills information leak regarding a new stadium request not one State Senator or Assemblymember has stepped forward to offer any support for this project. This idea is DOA. Latest available figures indicate that the Bills gross income/revenue in a non pandemic year is about $425 million, give or take a million. If they need a new stadium which they do not (NYS funded a $130 million renovation of Wilson Stadium three years ago), they can finance the new stadium themselves. Currently the stadium is in excellent condition. Leg room in the lower bowl seating has always been an issue, but that issue can be resolved with a better seating plan. The Syracuse Dome also had a recent renovation and complete roof replacement. No need for a replacement there either. A much better use of state funds would be in the area of road and bridge repair especially on the I 86.
