Cincy is blowing out #14 Illinois which is both good and bad for the BONNIES. It’s mostly good. We are now #15 by default 🙂

Iona just knocked off #10 Alabama. So at least 3 of top 15 have lost this week meaning we should move up to #13 if we win Sat. (and others may yet lose this week)....

After our loss, we moved up from 18 to 17 in the CBS Top 25 + 1. Weird Don't think so. We are now out of that poll. In fact Seth Davis also left us off his poll and incredibly had Dayton above us despite Dayton having 3 Quad 4 losses at home to start the season, as well as Marquette, which tells you something about these dopey polls. This was a bad loss people. We can't be losing to a team like Northern Iowa at home. When you're ranked 16th. From what I've seen the national pundits have jumped off the bandwagon. In fact I don't think we return to the rankings unless we beat UConn. And I kinda like that. Back to playing defense, under the radar and with a chip on our shoulders.

We don’t deserve to be in rankings. We haven’t beat a ranked team and we just lost to Northern Iowa at home. Let that set in. Maybe guys will be a bit hungrier.

Not sure why people are still think UNI is a bad loss. They were on the radar in the MVC ranked third behind two likely NCAA clubs in LUC and Drake. Northern Iowa's first game in nearly two years at full strength was against us.
AJ Green is an elite scorer and is finally getting healthy after having hip surgery. In a few months, this lost won't be nearly as bad as many think it is.
Ranking or not, still a lot of work to do for the Bonnies.

I wish people would pick a side, people are all enamored by this gosh darn ranking yet they don’t think losing to Northern Iowa at home is a big deal. Guess what….it is a big deal if you want to be mentioned with the big boys, championship teams find a way to win at home against opponents who are inferior. I don’t care if AJ Green was Michael Jordan for a night. Figure it out. The ranking will be long gone. Can’t have it both ways, for the people who think it was ok to lose to Northern Iowa, there are circumstances that come with that.

A10 Reg Season Championship A10 Tournament Championship Charleston Classic Championship This is already a "championship team" We will fall in the rankings just like every other ranked team that loses a game. And there has been a lot of them the past couple weeks. Kansas lost to Dayton, I guess they suck just as bad as we do.

I think you put it best “we will fall like every other ranked team that loses”, it’s really simple math. It’s just a ranking, it doesn’t determine anything for NCAA selection process.

In a few months, this lost won't be nearly as bad as many think it is. Ranking or not, still a lot of work to do for the Bonnies. For my own emotional well being, I have come to accept that there are multiple interpretations of "bad loss." At this time of the year, for ranking purposes, every voter and pundit can choose whatever standard they want to decide a given loss was a "bad" one. The net result, though, is Bona will drop significantly among virtually all voters and "power ranking" pundits. On that basis, this was a bad loss. Hopefully, by year end, when the evil committee is evaluating wins and losses by quadrant and in total, the UNI result is not be the one that gives them the excuse to keep our boys out. That will be the ultimate determination of a "bad loss." My concern is that since it was at home, the bar for every quadrant is higher, so getting UNI to a Q2 loss is harder and could be just a bit too far. Hopefully, they roll from here on out.
