Looking at the George Mason upcoming schedule all these games are at EagleBank, but Dayton tomorrow, St Joe's on Monday and then we come in on Wednesday. When you look at their schedule they have played some pretty good teams and taken several right up to the last couple of minutes before falling.

I rewatched the second half of the Duquesne game that I had recorded, specifically with an eye on Lofton. He tried only one of his favorite floaters from inside the paint, but other than his reluctance to attempt those shots, I thought his movements looked fine, particularly on D. So yes, maybe he was hampered by the ankle, or maybe he just saw that after the 3 he hit, it wasn’t necessary for him to take on more offensively as we were pretty much in control and Jaren and Jalen were getting the job done on offense and sometimes our best offense was for one of them to miss and just let OO get the rebound and slam it home. As effective as Kyle is with those shots, they just weren’t needed against the Dukes. Maybe if the Dukes had evened up the game he’d have been more active on offense, but that didn’t happen. So I am optimistic he is ready to resume his complete game and will do so against GMU on Wednesday. Even if he doesn’t but can run the O and play D, he’s valuable and needed. Alternatively, maybe Dom finds the range and goes off for 20+ to take the pressure off Kyle to score.

Good post ceharv - hope you are right about Kyle. Spears had his way with Kyle off the dribble several times that I recall- which led me to think that Kyle wasn't back to his normal self.

Agree that Lofton was hampered by ankle sprain during Duquesne game. He moved much better in Lasalle game. Think he reinjured it in Dayton game. Bonas needs Lofton at full strength to compete with better A10 teams. Outside shooting is shaky and inconsistent. Really need Brown to contribute. Welch plays outstanding defense and rebounds well but he has become a liability on offense in recent games. Needs to get his confidence back.

George Mason took down Dayton 50-49.
This was a very close came throughout. GM lead most of the way but Dayton had short held leads with largest being 3 pts.
The Mason held HOLMES II to only 3 shots and 6 points in his 33 mins. That and outscoring them by 15 pts from deep was the difference.
Their D held Dayton to 31% FGs and 22% TREYS.
Dayton played 8 and GM went 7 deep.
We will have our hands full with a tough GM team!

Look forward to watching GM play Joe's tonight. I attended 1 game at GM with grandkids about 9 years ago (beautiful arena) and enjoyed their band and flamboyant band leader only because Bona won the game.
Hard to predict outcome. GM lost to a weak GW team (playing better) by 1 and next time out beat Dayton by 1. Go figure!
Mason's win over Dayton was fueled by a +15 pts from treys. That overcame their 3 more TOs, minus 8 PIP and -2 from the stripe. TREYS make up for deficiencies. They are # 4 making TREYS at 36%.
OH, BTW they limited NBA bound Holmes II (The highest recruit for Dayton ever) to 3 shots (1 basket) and 4 points over 33 mins !!!!!!
Always enjoy watching the game of ODURO. Does many things so well. Love his game except when he plays the Bonnies.
G Mason could be on a roll!
