What do we expect from Friday’s matchup? I recall some historically physical games between Bona and the Dukes, but this year’s Bonnies don’t seem to be the kind of team that wants to throw down with opponents. It seems odd that these two teams are now among the least fouling teams in the country (Bona tied for #7 and Duquesne #11).

Only 2.9 points per game for Rotroff, I think Duquesne will be okay in his absence

Hopefully there's a good Bona contingent tomorrow in the Steel City. We usually draw pretty well down there, but who knows being that it's a weekday game.

Rotroff was the back up to Tre Williams and has been play some recently (20 minutes per game is pretty big for him) In the middle and Williams ability to handle OO while staying out of foul trouble could be the key to the Dukes chances against the Bonnies. The Dukes stats are what you’d expect from a 6-9 team. They rely heavily on their guards for scoring and their wings are their real weak spot. We should have a huge advantage there as their wings have gone invisible many times this season, although Easley can show some life at times, and if he and Williams start scoring inside that could be troublesome for us. Their guards are young and I don’t believe they’ve shown they can handle guys like Jaren and Kyle. Plus Williams is foul prone and if ‘Shoon can take it to him, I think he’ll be on the bench soon and they really don’t have any depth at the 5, particularly if Rotroff can’t go or is restricted. You will see former Bona target Jackie Johnson in the game early, and the shot you see headed for the hoop from just across half court will be his. He shoots from VERY deep and Dambrot seems to have given him a green light to shoot from anywhere, and he does. He hits them on occasion scoring @19/game, but 24 assists to 27 turnovers for the year) but not yet often enough to make a difference in most games (averaging @19/gm, but 24 assists to 27 TOS for the year). There will be looong rebounds available. Once again turnovers (Spears in particular picks up a lot of his offense off turnovers) and rebounding (at 250, Williams is a force and if the refs adopt a “let ‘‘em play” attitude, he and Easley will do well) will be critical. I am uncertain how much of a home court advantage they’ll have. Local media in Pittsburgh has just about abandoned coverage on the Dukes and the A10, sorry to say.

I am presuming Linton available tomorrow. He made the trip to Dayton even though not cleared. I don't know if team came back to campus or went on to Pitt. My assumption, perhaps wrong, was that they would go to Pitt and so Linton with them and ready to play.
Too little said probably about possible Kyle fall off. IF he did hurt ankle again it's likely to still be problem tomorrow and makes this a tossup on road. If he is 90%, then okay. But he may be 70% for the rest of the year off and o . If so, that makes it highly unlikely we would make bid for A10 tourney or NCAA. A shame but--as some of us warned at the time high ankle injuries are a bitch. A slashing guard who can't slash on a team that shoots badly...not a great thing....Quadry can fill defense but no offense....

The Nelson twins ready to claim that 5th year of eligibility. Damrot considering it. JARRET DURHAM , BILLY ZOPH, AND MICKEY DAVIS may still have some eligibility remaining. i think DICK RICKETTS and SIHUGO GREEN may be a little too long in the tooth to compete.

let's just hope WILLIE SOMERSET doesn't show up to play tonight! If there was a 3pt rule back in SOMERSET’s day, he would have scored 70 against the Bonnies that one night!
