Got the road win but you got the feeling watching that they can be better. Ankle injuries can linger for months.

OHS - Agree about Kyle ... As a team - We need to focus on the next opponent with an eye on the showdown with Davidson. Good call on Jaren as well. He is the glue on this team - our only man who can create his own shot until Kyle is back to full strength. His defense, hustle, and all-around game is both inspirational and contagious. Looking for more out of OSUN and we got it last night. Need to keep working and building to get back to peak form for Davidson (10 days away). I wouldn't say I'm pessimistic - more like cautiously optimistic at this point.

Yes, typo on JALEN 26-27 FTs this season. Best from the stripe and from beyond the arc. Not counting KARIM's 50% treys (1-2)

It’s a nice win on the road, but anyone with half a brain can see this team is not playing up to its potential. Lots of little stuff and inconsistencies plague us. Covid and the long layoff play a role but this was happening way before the layoff. Kyle’s play reminds me of Jay Adams’ with senior year ankle problems. Jay’s quickness and speed was hampered at several points throughout his final season. Jay had some amazing games but struggled at times on both ends. Kyle is giving it all he has but paying 40 minutes doesn’t allow any time for healing or improvement. It is perplexing because he had 4 weeks to rest and recover. Dom and Jaren are inconsistent. Jaren was solid and clutch vs Duquesne. Dom plays great D and hits a key shot every now and then. Not sure of the reason why we don’t see consistence offensive excellence from them. Often I think playing in this same complicated offense and logging 38+ minutes each game wears on our Iron 5 mentally. They’ve played so many games and not everyone seems to keep motivated and aggressive every game. We seldom push the ball and look for easy buckets. Everything is a grind on both ends. The team as a whole has not been able to take that big leap we and all the experts were expecting. We will be competitive in the A10 and could win the tourney — but not sure if or how we get to the Sweet 16 or Round of 32 level if we don’t get more help from the bench. As individuals there isn’t significant improvement other than Adaway’s offensive game (mainly outside shooting) and Shoon’s big performances every 3 or 4 games. Defense is not as good. Shooting is poor. It is nearly impossible to advance in the NCAA tourney by being a poor 3 point shooting team and a poor 3 Pt defense. We are among the worst teams nationally in 3 Pt offense and defense. That is a horrible combo. I love these guys and our staff. Maybe we are a month away from reaching our peak, getting more production from the bench — and this will look like the most absurd post of the year. Perfect post, Bigcat....Even if I could find the words, I don't know if I could have described it any better...Like you said, hopefully, we are just a month away from hitting our peak and can pull it off...Things certainly look "iffy" at this moment considering where we had hoped this team would be at this time. I hope Coach gives Linton a chance to play again. I was hoping when Dom got into foul trouble, he would get a shot but Coach brought in Adams instead and we didn't really have a "3" at the time while Dom was on the bench. Like I said before, I think Coach is resigned to letting the "Iron 5" try to figure this out for themselves believing that they have earned that right. Let's see where his faith goes...

A fine bounceback from the rough outing at UD.

Fordham bows late to Davidson 69-66
Enjoyed watching Fordham push Davidson to the very end. They were down 1 with 5 secs to play. McKillop leaves Rose Hill breathing easy continuing his hot run.
Rams were up 7 at the half but pushed it to 13 with 17 mins to play. At that point Kelly committed a stupid T costing Fordham 4 pts. That was the turning point to the Davidson come back.
The sparks flew in this game. "Ts" called against both teams.
Davidson was clearly frustrated with the effective intensity of the Ram D. But the size of of LUKA (6 10/250) and MENNENGA (6'9/245) dominated the paint and Fordham had no one to stop their easy jump hooks and easy put backs. OSUN should study tape of the 2nd half to see how EASY they demonstrated their unstoppable jump hooks !!!. Osun has the size and length to make that a go to score a high % of the time. It has eluded his repertoire of put backs and dunks.
Watched a good shooting team make only 23% of their treys. It happens! And their 42% FGs would be far lower if not for the 2 big guys scoring at will deep in the paint. They combined for 37 pts on 58% PIP.
QUISENBERRY had a super game but got NO support at all. Kid had game high 36 pts. He took the final missed shot. A trey he was convinced he was fouled on. Having gone 10-10 from the stripe it potentially could have sent game into OT. I did not feel he was fouled.
In this day and age of coaches wearing sweats I find it refreshing seeing some of the old timers showing up in suits. I know I am old school. MCKillop looked like he was dressed for a men's fashion shoot. Always an impeccable look. Laughed last week when I saw Manhattan Coach Steve Masiello show up to play Pitino wearing his best (only) suit ONLY because he knew Pitino would be wearing one. Steve's sweats sometimes looks like pajamas.
MCKillop sure scouts foreign players well. He has players from Austria, New Zealand, England, Iceland and Denmark.
No team is unbeatable and that is certainly the case in the A10. Fordham fell to the Manhattan Jaspers (loved it) and today almost knocked of one of the hottest teams in the country.
Basketball is a fun game. No one was allowed to attend the game due to covid.

I was in Pittsburgh for the game Friday.
First off, Duquesne has done a wonderful job with their arena. The atmosphere was great. I didn’t expect to see such a vocal and engaged student section.
As far as the game goes, I was happy to see Bona return to their principles. Defense and high energy. Shoon played the best game of his career. Completely owned the paint. For my money, he’s our most valuable player.
I know Duquesne closed the gap, but I never felt like the game was in jeopardy. The guys were in control and always had answer. Solid win.

I’m really sick of seeing people say this team isn’t playing to their potential. GET REAL. The expectations coming into this season have warped your brains. A basketball season is filled with ups and downs. Some of you got too attached to being ranked.

I’m really sick of seeing people say this team isn’t playing to their potential. GET REAL. The expectations coming into this season have warped your brains. A basketball season is filled with ups and downs. Some of you got too attached to being ranked. Real?? My expectations like most clear-minded fans is that this team would be improved considerably over last season… have a better bench … and players like Dom would be more consistent. None of that has happened. Winning the league and winning at least one NCAA tourney game are realistic goals that coach has stated. Do we look like that type of team? Maybe one out of every 6 games. Obviously there are ups and downs, but players should not regress. Team defense should not go from Top 25 nationally to middle of the pack nationally. We lack consistency on both ends from game to game. I could site other stats that tell the same story. It’s the exact core group and the coaching staff from last year. How are those observations and expectations “warped”? I said we might be a month away from peaking — though it makes little sense that we are, and that Davidson and Dayton seem more advanced than us 15 games into the season.

We’re 11-4 and 3-1. What more do you want? If they beat Mason on Wednesday, i’ll be very happy with the position they’re in. I don’t see the point in nitpicking their flaws, especially after a road win where they led from start to finish.

A basketball season is filled with ups and downs. Some of you got too attached to being ranked. Do you truly believe this team is playing to their full potential, or do you feel they have just reached their full potential? Do you really think they have improved since last year? I think most people expect to lose occasionally, but not to UNI when they looked detached. Most I think expected us to lose against UConn and maybe VT (althoughI thought we were favore dgoing in), but not the way we lost. In all honesty, many thought this team would take the next step and be the equal to the top teams. Most experts thought so as well, which is why we were ranked high at the beginning of the year. It wasn’t the folks here that initially ranked us so high, it was college bball experts who expected the same continuing trajectory with 5 returning starters. It is what it is, and we are what we are, but let’s not pretend that everyone, including the national pundits, did not think the Bonnie’s would be better than we are showing against the better teams on our schedule.

We have raised our standards as a program. We’re not improved over last season and not consistent. Don’t you agree?

Enjoy hearing announcers talking about the passion of Bona fans and how well they TRAVEL.
I believe that CHRIS ALLEN will be the most traveled fan this season. A SUPER FAN !
