I am curious - can anyone visiting campus provide an update on summer campus improvements? I presume the Bulild a Better Bonaventure campaign is well underway but I’d like to have that confirmed and reports of any other observations please.

Walked the campus this week. ...the plassman reconstruction appears to e almost done.,most of the update appear to be internal...the exterior may be changed, but not really noticeable. Did notice the statue of StFrancis,,the wolf and... .? ....between plassman and Reilly center has been removed; maybe for construction pus. The statue of Bob Lanier deteriorated as well and has been gone for some time ....the pediment? Remains. The fountain at the center of De la Roche has been filled in and converted o a plantingThis follows the removal of the fountain in the courtyard of Dev....always liked both of those fixtures. Years ago there was a circular shallow pond hat centered the stations of the cross at the base of the bonaventure cemetary facing rte 417/main street Also filled in. Beginning to think there is a few bias against water fixtures! One visible change...tho not completely new is the industrial strand curbing but on the roads connecting Reilly center with the converted seminary / medical class buildings and the apt complexes..probably,to preclude random parking near athletic fields,,,, very Germanic looking

Thanks for the report towniegrad. Regarding the lost water features I am no expert but I have to believe the well-known campus and area freeze-thaw cycles make upkeep costly and virtually constant, so while disappointing their removal is not surprising.

Water does go where it wants and won’t go where it doesn’t want and it’s expensive to change its mind .....again and again.
