The lack of NIL funds is concerning to all of us. I hate to say it but I I’ve given considerable thoughts as to whether the A-10 is the right conference, or even if dropping down to the D-2 level could make more sense financially. We have the resources to dominate at a lesser conference or Division. We are geographically and financially aligned with the MAAC. something to consider. The current model isn’t sustainable for long as the playing field/court keeps tipping against us.
Would alumni be willing to swallow their pride if it meant longer and sustained success by moving to a lesser conference or becoming a national power at the D-2 level? This is something I struggle with but certainly worth discussing.

NO. Do the ‘resources’ stay the same, long term, if we go to a lesser conference? No. Does fan interest remain the same moving to a lesser conference? No. Does anyone know how NIL will shake out in a year? Two years? Ten? No. I guess what I am saying is NO

demourse when does the mascot post come? When he's done reeling in any remaining catfish in the football pond.

Is St. Bonaventure University doing okay financially? How is enrollment for next fall? We have added a few new academic programs recently correct?

Yes last year was a down year but the team did win 14 games with an almost completely new roster and no returning minutes. I do not think we can make outlandish comments like this after year one of the NIL NCAA debacle. This team has consistently performed in the A-10 the last 10 years and now after a really down year we have people talking about D-2. I do not know the person that posted this but, this is what is wrong with the world today. Once a little adversity hits, let run for cover. We need to see how things play out the next 4-5 years. I think we will be fine because we have arguably the best coach in the league. We are returning almost all of our scoring and added some pieces via Freshman and the transfer portal. Can we please let things play out first!

We only have resources because we are in the A-10, they will drop if we drop conferences, and really drop if we go to D2. Heck, we drop to the MAAC tomorrow, Bonnie’s probably has one of the lowest endowments and we will have less support than Siena, who will overtake us in a heartbeat. Contrary to today’s societal abnormal, success is not dropping to play at a lower level, it is the exact opposite.

The NIL money will come from the Casinos. Unless a donor writes a large check.
