We certainly do not need to buy land for a new dorm that would be off campus. We have 650 acres of our own. Important that a dollar genersl or crap like that not go up. There were multiple studies about the development of the old castle inn property and market demand studies resulted in little interest from outside retailers, restaurants etc.

Reference old-timer and townie grad
Declining utility bills can somrtimes be an incentive for prospective buyers. A lower fixed cost in your investment ( home ) can be beneficial to the new owner of that property.
Wishing you all the Best of Health and Happiness !!!

For the second time in just three years, a survey of LA County residents found that many believe their quality of life is steadily dropping.
UCLA has been polling Los Angeles residents about their overall quality-of-life satisfaction, factoring in large-scale issues like housing costs, education, and transportation and traffic since 2016. But from 2023 to 2024, those quality-of-life ratings dipped to an all-time low, with the majority of participants citing housing and the rising cost of living as some of the biggest reasons for their dissatisfaction.
