Fire Mark Schmidt ?? Fire Chris Mooney (a two year lament). I have been around the game as a scholastic coach for well over 35 years. Mark Schmidt knows what he is doing. He knows the team gets stagnant. He know the holes. He knows Venning (who was never double-teamed until he played at Bona) does not make the correct split second decision very often. Venning cannot be stopped 1 on 1 and that is a fact few have disputed. Criticize the fact that the other players he brought in were over-rated or underperformed or were from lesser conferences (except for Mika and Brown). We have NO player this team that can create their own shot. We have no true POWER FORWARD. This team has holes. Lack of consistent shooting ( a hallmark of this team) can be made up with physical play. Our guards are not physical. We have zero physicality outside of the center position. Holmes and Marcus Posley and other past guards/forwards could drive to the rim and possessed the strength to take a hit and finish. Our best penetrator at a guard/forward spot is Pride and he his not close to either Holmes or Posley. Barry Evans? He has Zero offensive game. But, I like him as defensive player and scrapper. He is not the answer to our offensive woes. Assa is not consistent. Banks is not consistent. Flowers is not consistent. Pride cannot create, but what a scrapper. Woods is good, but he cannot create. We have the best 1-2 punch at center in the A-10. But, the supporting cast is not what we had hoped. extremely well put. this team , other than at center, is undersized. other than PRIDE, the forwards are mediocre.there are 3 good players on this team.VENNING, PRIDE, and WOODS.the rest are inconsistent. as i have i stated a few times recently on this board, the bonnies are in great need of a VERY STRONG recruiting season.

Four 1,000 point scorers and the returning A-10 Rookie of the Year and it’s a personnel problem?
Nobody is saying MS needs to be fired immediately, but he has to be accountable for a lot of the underachievement the last three seasons.

Agree with most of what is being said here, but one of SCHIMDT's glaring weaknesses has been his inability to recruit true POWER FORWARDS.

The position "power forward" doesn't exist anymore. It's an extinct position. Guys playing the 4 these days can handle, shoot, slash and finish. If we're hanging the teams success on Schmidt locking down solid "power forwards", we're in real trouble...........
Go Bonas!

Might be the cool thing to be saying right now, but how many offensive rebounds did the BONNIES have against LaSalle Wednesday night? 3!!!!!!!

It's absolute fact - the 4 position doesnt beat and bang and play with their back to the basket. The position as a "power forward" is gone. You know who the best "power forward" is in the A10? It's Holmes playing the 5 - and yet he handles, faces up and stretches out for 3s. The PF position is no longer. Has zero to do with rebounds - that's fundamentals, heart, attitude, positioning and hustle - something the Bonnies the past 3 years has had issues with. Go Bonas!

Charles Pride leads the team in rebounds at 6.3 per game and also leads the team in offensive rebounds. Our 6'10" 275 lb center is 4th at 4.3 rebounds per game. Why doesn't Venning rebound better? And, you may want to add the position of center as a disappearing position in both the college and professional ranks.

Hard to argue with faffy444's post, "There are 3 good players on this team. VENNING, PRIDE, and WOODS.the rest are inconsistent."
However I would qualify that comment with they have also shown inconsistency. But inconsistency is a characteristic of most good players.

If our centers are better why not play them together once in a while. We are poor at rebounding because players hang on perimeter instead of attacking glass when shot goes up. Not sure why that is .

The days of following your shot is avoided by most teams as they look to protect the run out basket.

Oldtimer… Who is saying “Fire the Coach?” Who is stupid enough to think this team does not have holes. I like others are saying this season and last season’s ending have not been Mark’s best coaching jobs. Yes this team has holes. Yes our coach has holes in his style, strategy and adjustments. Flowers was the best 6th man in the league. Then coach put him in the starting lineup and he has been ineffective for the most part. This team will never win consistently playing through Venning. Again that is a coaching decision. Some of you cannot admit that coaching deserves any blame for any loss or poor seasons. That is blind admiration.
