The Memphis Grizzlies select... Andrew Nicholson of St. Bonaventure Univeristy. one word to describe Andrew Nicholson: unstoppable monster (oops, that's two). there's no answer for Andrew. once he gets the ball in the paint, it's automatic. that hook shot of his can't be defended.

With that baby hook, he's not far off. The kid gets his shot whenever he wants. If he wasn't given two questionable fouls early on we wouldn't be lamenting what could have been. He got everything he wanted tonight, they just couldn't stop him. LOVE that he can cash his FT's too by the way.

We'll find out how unstoppable he is when he faces Varnado. If he dominates that situation, then you just may have something there.

Andrew is certainly not Kareem & I would not call him unstoppable against top big men at this stage in his development. However Coach Scmidt’s early comparison to David West (actually said he was better than West at similar age) & Martelli’s accolades of his talent may be the early forecasts of Andy aspiring to be the dominant big man in the A10 & legit shot at the NBA. An incredible talent recruited by no one & first played organized ball in Canada JUST 3 years ago.
Since his first Div I game he has shown steady & significant improvement in key areas: better hands on rebounds, jump hooks with both hands, nice stroke out to 18’, better out let passes, reducing his fouls (after his first 30 secs into last night’s game had just 1 more the rest of the game), solid from the line & very coachable.
Imagine if we had Fontan as our PG maybe we would see some glimpses of a Kareem.

Even though Andrew is still about 225, He seems a lot stronger! It seemed to me last night that he had no problem bodying up Evans(255) and Burrell(240ish).

Bear30 are you kidding me? Why is it that every time we have a player who is very good some nitwit expects him to leave? You are a fool sir.

Let's get real. HE IS NOT TRANSFERRING! He won't transfer. I thought the implication was that if he continued to improve maybe he would leave early for the NBA draft. We haven't had to worry about that in forever.

And if everything we hear and read about the importance of his chemistry education is true, would he be likely to stay even if presented with the opportunity to leave early?
