We got our "article". It is on the front page of the sports section. A few paragraphs about Ohio game and then a mention of Thursday.
If you live within 100 miles of this game you need to be there!!! no excuses.

NO MORE GAMES IN ROCHCHESTER .
Poor attendance, the place in a dump where they play, the alums, for the most part, don't even live there anymore.
I think the venue should change to the Duck Pond in Anaheim. There are more transplants here, greater exposure in the media, better prospects. And due to the East Coast transplants, their parents want to get them out of here to play in front of the relative back East. We had a Home and Away game with USC with almost a sellout there. At the Pepperdine Tourney, which we won, there was a lot of Bonnie fans ! (the reason why VBK took the job at SBU)
Plus its a GREAT place to spend a few weeks in the Winter.
Go Bonas

I grew up in Rochester and I can tell you the place IS a shitbox and so is the arena. That being said, so is Olean. I was in town the other week and its like stepping back in time. If you're not drinking or eating, you're waiting to die. The town along with the rest of the Southern Tier never really recovered after 72.
Has a University ever been relocated? I see enough mobile homes being transplanted along 86, seems like the equipment is there to make a run at it. xoxo.

I believe SoCal was a little tongue-in-cheek? All of the cities in upstate NY are dumps. Rochester is an oversized Corning without the "growth". Buffalo (my town) is a has-been. Who cares? Go Bonas.

www.rochesterbiz.com/Business/Regional/Facts.aspx? seems to me that not a lot of people have left the area at all or maybe they just have that pessimistic attitude that is so prevalent on this board. yeah there are spots in rochester that have seen better days, but overall it is actually a beautiful city. and what's wrong with the blue cross? sorry for getting defensive, just giving facts. usually don't like it when people trash my home or my school

I moved to Rochester upon graduation from Bonas, and lived and worked there for 13 years before moving to NYC. Loved Rochester. Yes, like all cities it has its warts, but it is a beautiful city with a terrific blend of affordability, livability and things to do all seasons of the year. I moved away for various reasons which had nothing to do with wanting to move away from the Rochester area. I miss Ra Cha Cha, and the friends that remain there.

Oops, sorry about ruffling feathers! A know that Roch-cha-cha is a wonderful place and I thank all of the Alums for attending Bonas and sending their kids there also.
I'm just not impressed with the Blue Cross Arena as a Basketball venue.
As for Jimmy Chitwood, Wadeinthewater, 2013 and others, in may statement "Poor attendance, the place in a dump where they play, the alums, for the most part, don't even live there anymore." I never put down the City of Rochester just the Arena - I think you guys should READ what I said. (Rusty tells it like it is thou)
And, yes, it is a little selfish on my part to want to watch my beloved Bonnies in a West Coast setting. Therefore,
SUNNY AND MILD !!!

You said BCA is a dump and no alums live in Rochester anymore. Both of which are untrue and idiotic statements. You also mentioned poor attendance. The BCA game typically draws 3-4 thousand on a weeknight game. The RC didnt event draw that last Saturday afternoon. Playing games in Roch and Buffalo draw the larger teams and give the fans and most importantly, the alumni (who donate money to the school) in the area a chance to see a game without making it a 6 hour trek. I love going to games in the RC as often as I can but its not feasible on a regular basis.

Why does something always have to be better or worse? People live in areas that suit their needs. I live in Rochester and I love it. Since graduation I have also lived in Buffalo, NJ, and North Carolina. They are all great places in their own right.
It is feasible to go from Rochester to Bonas for a good portion of the games. IF you make it a priority. I usually make at least ten home games a year.
Playing games at the BCA and in Buffalo makes sense on a lot of levels. Not the least of which is that we can get an ACC team to come and play us.
Go Bonnies. See you there

Uh, "we're going up to middle-of- nowhere NY..."? Third largest city in NY vs Blacksburg, VA?
