I really haven't followed the NBA a lot over the years except the Pistons because of Lanier and later Chuck Daly and the Celts with Larry Bird. Daly was a heck of coach because wherever he was...Punxy High School, U of Penn, BC or the NBA, he knew how to utilize talent and adapt people into his system. If he had a shooter..he got him the ball in the offense, he found a role for cast offs like Vinne Johnson and non-traditional players like Lambier and Rodman. I think Daly was one of the best, and Vaughn is one of the worst. Vaughn has no idea how to use his talent. I really can't figure out what he is trying to do with not only AN, but with other young players on his team. I threw in the towel after AN had that fantastic 1st half last year in a certain game and was unstoppable until Vaughn found a way to stop him by sitting him on the bench for the 3rd quarter.

21 minutes last night and Vaughn spilling out in the Orlando paper about how AN earned those minutes. I am hoping one of two things happen....Vaughn gets relieved of his duties or AN gets traded.

Productive minutes. Took four 3s and hit three of them. 11 points. Plus four boards, and assist and a steal. No fouls, no turnovers.
Pray for a trade.

This is why Vaughn is a terrible coach, AN just hit the last two 3pt buckets for Orlando. Denver calls time out. What does Vaughn do, takes out his hot shooter, AN, and substitutes in a guard. The next possesion by Denver, they miss a shot and Denver gets an offensive rebound. Orlando finally gets the ball back down 3 still and the man Vaughn put-in, misses the 3pt to end the game.
UGH!!
Vaughn needs to go!

Phil Jackson said that by Thanksgiving/Christmas he would know who his 'learners' were - who could learn his triangle office and who couldn't (or wouldn't). Well the Knicks just dumped J.R. ("I don't wanna grow up, I just wanna be a kid") Smith (0 for 5 last night for Cleveland), High Top Fade, and Dalembert. Think they could use a 6'9" former physics major who can shoot, sees the floor and is a good passer ?
I know the Knicks have little left of trade value, but Orlando doesn't seem to value Andrew so Phil should be able to make it happpen.

Interesting to me that AN suddenly is getting some minutes after so many "coach's decision's". Could it be that they are showcasing him a bit to see if there is interest out there (without giving up on the tanking strategy they seem to employ year after year)?

Hope is the only the only thing we got going for AN right now. There has to be one GM out there that can find a use for a big man who can consistently hit a 18 ft jumper. Vaughan has AN and can't figure out a way to use that talent. Simply amazing. It really shows how crappy the level of play and coaching is in the NBA.

This is not a stretch....there are better HS coaches in Western Pa/ Western NY than J Vaughan. But, most probably couldn't handle the overt egos of today's players. Coaching AN should be a dream. But, Vaughan can't coach.
