to just feel the need to check in on the Bandwagon ever once in a while to casually catch-up with all things Bonas, as opposed to most summers when there has been a desperate need to see if we've signed that last-minute 'ship for the incoming class needed to fill out the roster, only to find that the only new posts are on the annual "let's bring back Bona football" or "why don't we get Duke to play us in the RC?" threads? Instead,on the other hand, we have to deal with more inane threads like this one.

Agreed. By the way, where has hermit been lately? I haven't seen anything from him in a while and am getting concerned about my fellow vet.

I believe that Hermit has been kept quite busy, being involved with his grandkids many activities and games. I can identify with that.

to just feel the need to check in on the Bandwagon ever once in a while to casually catch-up with all things Bonas Ceharv here is some basketball news for you from the Olean Times Herald and an interesting find on Willie Mangham. JP has an article online titled "it's been a busy summer" he talks about following: --New assistant coach Jerome Robinson, who is from Andrew's hometown of Mississauga. --Injuries to Jalen Adams (in walking boot for broken foot) and Jordan Tyson (in soft cast with broken bone in right hand) both are expected to resume practice in a couple weeks. Jordan Gaithers timetable for return is uncertain. He had surgery on his groin and hip area. --Jordan, Youssou and Danzel are the only players that are not on campus. Youssou is in Minnesota working out with his cousin and former Louisville center Gorgui Deng. Denzel is participating in a CNY summer league in Syracuse. JP had another that is not online titled "SBU's Adams anticipating coming year." Following are a couple comments from article. --JP states following "Jalen Adams at times was the best player on the floor during the Bonnies late night pick up games in the Reilly Center, which included senior to be Kloof and Matthew Wright. --JP shared a recent comment from a Bona official "we haven't had a whole lot of recruits who have been talked about the way Jalen has." --Jalen described his game "I'm a shooter, I can play defense, whatever the team needs." JP states Jalen appears to be a little bigger in the chest and arms. --JP states "Jalen and the coaching staff believe the red-shirt year might have been the best thing for him from a maturing and developmental standpoint." While looking up information on Earl Manigault "The Goat" who Kareem Abdul Jabbar called the greatest player he ever played against, I discovered Willie Mangham was a friend and a high school teammate of The Goat. It was Mangham who took the Goat to the airport for his ABA tryout with the Utah Stars. Unfortunately years of drug abuse prevented a professional career for the Goat. I often wondered why the Bonnies did not recruit players from the Rucker playgrounds, but apparently they did with Willie Mangham. Did Willie Mangham suffer from the same drug problems as the Goat, who also had little interest in an education? I believe Jalen Adams will be a starter for the Bonnies and it will probably be at small forward. www.oleantimesherald.com/sports/article_0a7161fe-0863-11e4-a88f-0019bb2963f4.htmlwww.slamonline.com/the-magazine/features/king-of-kings/2/

Willie Mangham left Bonas in '67 after he was found in possession of someone else personal property. A very talented PG, who would have been a huge assist to our program. He never played D1 again. Very sad story of missed opportunity.

Mangham had just left when I started school (68-69 yr) and there were stories of his ability that upper classmen would talk about in the nightly BS sessions so the name was very familiar to this wide-eyed frosh.

Chuck - thanks for the real news for a change. I am also really looking forward to seeing how Adams plays. I hope the injury does not hamper him and that he is the real deal and give us 4 good years as a league star and that soon we'll be talking about him in the same sentence as Nicholson and others as to where he fits on an all-time basis. keep your fingers crossed. BTW, what's with the reference to "senior-to-be Kloof"? Is that from last summer?
