Considering the fact that walk ons usually make trips and Tyson didn't is not a good sign. I kept hearing about 2 guys transferring a couple weeks ago Jordan Gathers already left could Jordan Tyson be transfer #2?

Some of you "old timers" may want to correct me or add to....but, as I recall , wasn't the '67-'68 Bonnie team of Lanier, Hayes,Butler,Kalbaugh, and Satalin known as the "Iron Man 5" ? They didn't do too bad that year either. Undefeated in the regular season? Sure, it would be nice to have bench players that can contribute.....and we do! It seems some Bonnie fans just want/ need something to worry about......we didn't win by enough, we will look back and regret, not enough shooters from 3 point, we don't schedule enough "big" teams. I mean, even when we had Tom Stith and Freddie Crawford.....we couldn't beat Ohio State. Yet that Ohio State team is considered to be one of the all time great college basketball teams.....and we only lost by 2..... Let's accept what we have , which seems , lately, to always be more than many people in the A 10 expect. Nothing wrong with that. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all....... I am all about keeping our best players on the court as much as possible, but there are certain times where I think its beneficial for the growth of the team down the years that the other players get some time too.

Bonaballa, You may be onto something ha....I did write about a month back how I thought this team was actually not deep at all. I think we are starting to see that opinion become more of a reality. It is really strange to see Jalen Adams' lack of playing time but from what I've been told it's due to a low basketball IQ right now and a struggle to grasp concepts...which is what I figured. The Tyson not making trip thing though reeks of a problem to me...I won't speculate anything but that's really odd and really rare. Even scrubs make trips. I don't like the sounds of that. NOTE: SBU's bench plays just over 20% of time. That's 346th in the country, giving us, speaking in terms of minutes used, the 6th worst bench in all of college basketball. SLU actually have the most used bench, followed by Kentucky with their rotation of players. So, I think that stat may more or less put to bed the debate of is our bench deep or now which I posed a a month ago. We don't...right now anyway. www.thebonablog.com If he has low basketball IQ and cant grasp concepts, shame on the coaching staff. I thought him red shirting would have taken care of anything like this.

Playing in a game and practice are very different. I suspect Jalen's issues are in game scenarios. Dion didnt play much his freshmen year and the reason I kept hearing was that he was not grasping the concepts and now look at him. We all drank the kool aid on Jalen but I am not giving up on him. Tyson definitely concerns me more. I figured he would get some time but there obviously are some issues there too. Maybe they are going to red shirt him?

I remember when Caswell Cyrus was a freshman and thinking how is Baron not playing the 6-9 athlete. He did play some late in season and was like how did Baron not find time for him earlier in the season. Now Adams has had a redshirt year to get ready and Schmidt can't find a few minutes? Really odd but it is up to Jalen to wow the coach in practice I guess.

The lack of bench production is troubling. Alston comes in ,turns it over twice and that is all we see of him. I agreed with that too. I yelled at my computer to get him out of there after the 2nd throw away. We are going to need those guys to come in and produce at some point.

Schmidt has never played freshman for the most part, so the PG situation is very interesting. We need some scoring from our bench. Other defenses should have to focus on 5 SBU players on the court, not just 3 that could do something offensively. How does one develop bench depth? I think this could be a question that is looked at. I believe that we have a strong group of players that can compete at this level. Jalen.... Tyson... I have no clue. I am glad they are here and look forward to all they will add to this team. We need to develop players faster than we have these past 7 years.

From what I have seen, Tyson needs a year of weight trainer/seasoning. He is not ready in my opinion. Jalen Adams ?

Bench was outscored 20-7 tonight (aided by a meaningless Alston 3). Keep in mind, Dayton currently has 6 scholarship players at their disposal. This is a serious problem, folks.
There's one solution: #FREEJALENADAMS

There's one solution: #FREEJALENADAMS When we were getting run out of the building with like 7 minutes left there is no reason he shouldn't have seen at least 5 minutes of playing time. No excuse for it. It's a bad job by coach. Jalen can't learn if he doesn't play.
