I know this won't be popular but right now the A-10 is a one bid league with VCU being the only school I see getting in. Just my thoughts, would love to hear others.

Minimum of two, three still possible though less likely. It will depend upon the separation we see between the top finishers and the rest of the league.

My thoughts would be to end the mindless conjecture, the bracketology "experts", the fascination with RPI, and when listings of the "Last 4 In the Tourney" are published prior to Selection Sunday. I would rather enjoy the games as they're played, see what transpires within the conference, and root like hell for the Bonnies in Brooklyn in March. I believe life can be more peaceful that way.
Go Bonnies!

It depends on all the conference slates. You can't predict at this point.
Michigan, for example, was slated to be one of the better teams in the Big Ten but has gone on a four game skid that started with a loss to NJIT. Michigan State, picked third, was slated to challenge for the conference title and just lost to Texas Southern. If these teams finish their conference slate, as expected, with great separation, it won't have too much of a negative impact on them. However, if the Big Ten teams all start to beat each other with Northwestern beating Illinois, Michigan beating Indiana, Maryland beating Wisconsin, and Penn State pulling out a win over Michigan State, it will have a great impact on the conference. The Big Ten could lose a few bids due to too many conference teams being around .500 in their conference schedule. All of these results, given the current events of the season, are possibilities.
The same is true for the A10.
If something happens like UMass beating VCU and LaSalle beating Rhode Island, it could negatively impact the conference. However, if VCU, Rhode Island, and Davidson beat everyone else in the conference and then trade games with each other, the conference could see three or four bids.
The key to getting bids is to have a very high winning percentage out of conference (as a conference). The lower the OOC winning percentage, the more you need separation between the top teams and the middle/bottom teams.
Without any conference games played, it is too hard to tell if any A10 teams will be able to separate themselves from the group.

The A10 will not be a 1 bid league. I dont understand how anybody can say otherwise at this point.

I know it's way too early to get into this, but I'm still interested because I know how beneficial an NCAA bid would be to the Bonnies and SBU's athletic budget. According to RPI Forecast the A10 has the seventh strongest composite RPI and an OOC SOS that is second only to the SEC. (Sorry for all the acronyms but anyone reading this probably understands). As other posts above suggest, the number of bids the conference receives will depend on whether the top four or five teams at the end of the season have conference losses only among themselves and not to the bottom feeders. You can't say much more at this point.

The result of the Big 10 and the A-10 losing bids might be more bids for the NEC, MAAC, American East, and MEAC. The primary driver for Selection Sunday this year may depend on TV ratings and money (how schools' alumni travel to game sites).

It is never too early to make projections, because they are fun to make and read. Of course they become more accurate as the season progresses. Everything is not as bleak as it was just 11 days ago, when I posted the A-10 had just a 57.7% winning percentage it is now 61.1%. According to Warren Nolan the A-10 currently has 6 teams with RPI's ranked in the top 50 (VCU, RI, Dayton, Richmond, GW and UMass). As mentioned by Class 70 A-10 has the 2nd strongest OOC schedule, so this should help A-10 team's RPI when conference games begin. My best guess is the A-10 will get 3 teams. Here are my most likely 3: VCU - is a no brainer with 3rd best RPI in the nation. Rhode Island - has 33rd best RPI with a 6-3 record. They do not have any bad losses (all to teams with RPIs under 50) but they also do not have any quality wins. Except for Nebraska (4 point win) rest of their wins were by double digits. Another factor is talent. A-10 has four 4 star recruits. VCU has 2 and RI has the other 2 (EC Matthews and Jared Terrell) with another that just misses out with freshman TJ Buchanan. GW - has 42nd best RPI with 6-3 record. Like RI they do not have any bad losses. Teams GW lost to have a combined 31-3 record and they lost to Seton Hall (27th best RPI) by only 4 on the road. Charlotte (51 RPI) was a quality win and rest of there wins were by double digits. warrennolan.com/basketball/2015/conference/Atlantic%2010

Who cares? Play the games, win as many as possible, play well in the A10 tourney...let the selection committee take care of the rest.
