The IONA board hopes their staff stays away from OBEKPA, suspensions and they say he would not be worth tying up a scholarship for 2 years for one year of play.

I have followed a few graduate Centers who would have been able to play at Bpna's for their last year. One center, who had the Notre Dame pedigree, just sighned with North Texas. Coming out of high school, Eric Katenda a Paris native had a potential great career in from of him, but an eye injury, causing him to become blind in one eye limited his ability on the court. I never really considered him a candidate for us, but I was hoping he would find a school.....so off to North Texas he goes.
"It’s been a rough-and-tumble road for Katenda, a native of Paris and former three-star recruit out of Kansas’ Sunrise Christian Academy. In 2011, he suffered an eye injury that left him blind in his left eye, and a multitude of other issues including a recurring knee problem limited him to just 17 games in South Bend. Over that stretch, Katenda averaged just 0.8 points in just over two minutes per game."
