"The Bonnies are a long-shot addition after Wednesday's win at Saint Joe's. How long they stay is up to them. The pros? Decent RPI, decent schedule, no sub-100 losses."

I would contend that Davidson is our next best win over a road win at Buffalo but that is nit picking. Glad we are at least getting some attention now

Love that we are in the conversation. Also, check out their blurb on St. Joe's. It even gives a nod to our Bonnies. In year's past, if we beat a team the NCAA pundits would say something like "while Bonaventure is a decent team, it's still a bad loss on the resume for XYZ team." Not this year!
"The good news for Saint Joe's? St. Bonaventure is pretty good. Their RPI is in the top 50. Their offense is the A-10's second-most efficient to date. It's totally possible they'll get in the tournament. All of which is to say: The Hawks' home loss on Wednesday night wasn't a total disaster."

The Bubble just grew by 1 spot...Louisville just issued a self imposed post season ban for that escort thing.

The players on this team had nothing to do with it and they are the ones who get punished. Much like Syracuse last year. Take away scholarships, that is how you punish programs. I get it, not going to the post season is a hit to the wallet but I dont like it being at the expense of the players who give their time and sweat to the school. I am happy it opens up a spot on the bubble, that is very good for us.

Pitino is "shocked". Again.
Self-imposed, eh? Isn't that like "Its okay dad, you don't have to whup my tail. I already whupped myself." 'Course it's Pitino so the NCAA will probably issue a statement thanking Louisville for being so forthright.

Sort of like the shenanigans that SU tried to pull before the NCAA came down on them. NCAA should look to take away schollies.

Win the A-10 or its tournament and it is no worries. To have a realistic chance at that need to finish at least 4th. To have a realistic chance at NCAA bid need <40 RPI, finish no worse than 3rd, no loses to >100 RPI team, and finish with a winning record against <100 RPI teams. Otherwise if we have at least 20 wins we can only hope for NIT bid.

So the seniors get punished. Terrible!
Brandon TierneyVerified Twitter account @brandontierney Did Pitino know? Irrelevant. It's his job to know. It's his program, and that encompasses everything. #Louisville

Let's say the Bonnie's lose to Dayton(as they should) and win rest of their reg season games? That would give them 22 regular season wins....I would think with One A10 tournament win (now 23 wins) that the Bonnie's should get in the NCAA. according to this article they have to beat Dayton......that's tough. I mean beating a top 25 team on the road?

I mean beating a top 25 team on the road? It's so hard to know. Last year before A-10 tourney everyone said Dayton with 23 wins was a "lock" for NCAA tournament. They went on to get to A-10 final and lost by a couple. They ended up being one of the "last teams in" playing in the First round on their home court no less but still were clearly not a lock going into A-10 tourney like everyone thought.

It may surprise some to know what the Selection Committee considers a quality win. They themselves may not know right now as they seem to devise self-serving new rules every year. However, it is probably not irrelevant that Kenpom credits us with two quality wins so far this year: UB was a Tier B win and SJU was a Tier A win. We have only one more opportunity before Brooklyn to get a quality win, and that will be against Dayton. I will append an explanation to the reasoning behind this if I get some free time to do it.
NOTE: Kenpom classifies a win as Tier A if it's over an opponent with an adjusted Kenpom rating in the Top 50 and Tier B against an opponent with an adjusted rating of 51-100. To make the adjustment add 40 to the opponent's current Kenpom rating if we play them on our home court and subtract 40 if we face them on their home court. Measured this way, the Bonnies have missed these opportunities for Tier A wins: SU and VCU. We have missed these opportunities for Tier B wins: Siena, Duquesne, Dayton. The record now stands 1-2 in Tier A and 1-3 in Tier B plus the loss to Hofstra on our home court. The Rochester game against SJU may be another opportunity, depending on whether that is considered a true neutral court and what SJU's rating will be. I doubt any reasonable person would consier the loss to 85th ranked Hostra as a "bad loss" and the Bonnies have a good SOS of 74 on RPI and a very strong Kenpom Conference SOS of #2 on games played through 2/5/16.
