IDK, I think if this game was played in previous years, we would have lost. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This. A thousand times, this. Some of you guys amaze me. A10 games are tough, road games are tougher. You don't always play your best. But, in years gone by, I was waiting to see whose hands the ball would bounce off on Bona's final possession. Now I wait to see who is going to nail the shot as the clock winds down. These guys are clutch. Maddening, perhaps, but clutch. And, btw, kenpom, Sagarin, et. al., had Bona a 4 pt. favorite, Vegas 4.5. They won by four, and yes, overtime counts. Maybe it's easier for me to see, I don't know. At the beginning of the season I was expecting 8 conference wins, hoping for 9 or 10. So I'm now playing with house money. Exactly! Oh, and if Posley had made both free throws with 2.9 seconds left, I would have had another win over in the LOTD contest. Damn it!

Wow! What a game to watch in person.
Rose Hill may be the smallest NCAA gym I've ever seen, but sitting 3 rows behind the bench for $20 might be the best deal in college basketball. I've never noticed how animated coach Schmidt and staff are. Every missed shot by the bonnies schmidt looked pissed! It was fun to watch.
The atmosphere was great too. Bona fans were loud and that made the fordham fans cheer even harder. I think we did a great job cheering but I will say, with a minute left in OT, the Bona crowd was too nervous to cheer haha.

Fordham with the new coach will be building something special in a few years, Ws will be harder and harder to come by in the coming years as he had the RAMS playing in your face physically very hard! Was it the best game Fordham played this year or one the best? It was a great Bonnies atmosphere, it was like a 12 hour vacation starting at the Arthur Avenue restaurant, so many familiar faces and reconnecting with old friends and classmates, guys from here and even a quick hello to our NYC recruit with WGT, a really nice kid, the alumni reception with Tim and Coach and the after hour midtown PUB crawl to 1am trying a flashback to the late 70s .... OUCH, my head hurts BTW. Obviously we have our 3-horses BUT what about TYSON? getting bigger, more confident, assertive every game! he walks different, facial expressions are different, shoots even foul shots different ... and only in his 15th game ....... as a frosh. And if the Bonnies had the NYRanger version of the "Broadway Hat" awarded after the victory by the players for the unsung hero of the game not on stats but contribution to the W .... who would that be? Our defensive stopper, glue guy would be my nomination .... scoreless in regulation but in OT not only did he have 2 key huge baskets but 2-3 other significant plays (causing the travel at half court, a rebound or assist .... can't remember all but all his little plays made a HUGE impact on me and the outcome of the game. I bet his teammates also recognized it as well! Well Done Taqqee. Bring on GW, GoBonnies!

Have we been exposed on how to play against us? Extend defense and pressure Adams? What Adams fails to do is draw more foul calls when closely guarded. 3-balls win games and the Rams hit a bunch of them in this game. Road win....moving on. These refs were pretty liberal on calling fouls and the one that really got to me was when they called Jaylen for "over-and-back" when even the announcers said that Jaylen "might have got fouled there"... Also, the Rams often seem to rely on hot shooting 3s when Rhoomes is not scoring inside and tonight, a lot of them just got hot at the same time and had us worried....Kudos to our guys for fighting that off with some good D late in the game when they could have folded. I think that is the difference between this team and a lot of others in the past several years: These guys seem to know that one of their teammates is going to help bail the team out somehow as long as they have faith in each other. These are the type of games that normally we would lose and move us more towards a .500 league record. Let's enjoy the ride while it lasts! I predict our boys will again "rise" to the occasion on Saturday and will at least come close to a victory, but more likely, pull one out or even may win "going away"....Let's go, Bonas!! I got in a shouting match with the ref because of that over and back call. I was right on the half court line floor seats (holding the bonnies flag!)! Two things: 1. Jaylen definitely got fouled. 2. The ball didn't go over the line. Terrible, terrible call. The ref threatened to have me removed from the game and they sent a security guard to sit with me and a few other rowdies right after that.

Good job, Bonasdude! I heard a lot more "Let's go, Bonas" on the video feed than Fordham fans. Great environment for college basketball. Very hard to understand why total attendance at a game like this was only a shade over 2000.

i agree with your assessment of idris, cope...i found myself watching last night how he always seems to be in good position on the court for whatever needs to be done at a particular moment in the game...and he's been doing that all year...a good team needs solid role players to do their part to compliment the "stars" and i think we've got a good one in idris...

Add me in to those becoming a BIG fan of Idris....The drive to the hoop to start the scoring in overtime was big and then to hit that open shot late in the OT was HUGE!! When asked upon to do something special, the kid is just "money" this season! Give Schmidt and staff credit for recognizing this kid's special hidden talents so early in his career! He is a TEAM player!

Seems like the Bonnies are hanging on by a thread. They need an energy boost. A sold out RC on Saturday is just what the doctor ordered. The "doctor" must be in the (sold out) house!!

I love cope's "Broadway Hat" award to Idris. He contributes so much not measured in the Boxscore.

The Bona support at Rose Hill may have been the best I have seen in the past 16 years.
Typically all the seats behind our bench to about 10 ft short of half court are filled with the faithful. From that point on it mostly would be Ram fans.
I had a friend sitting at the far end (behind Ram bench)& he said almost everyone around him were Bona fans. A remarkable show of support with a large crowd attending the post game gathering. Tim Kenney & Mark Schmidt spoke to the crowd thanking them for their support. Coach Schmidt said how gratifying it was to walk into a venue & see more Bona fans than Ram fans. He said the passion expressed by the Bona faithful, where ever they play, is remarkable & is an inspiration to the players & staff.
At the end of the game all staff & players came to the sidelines waving and thanking their fans for the support. I noticed that Marcus, Jay & Denzel hugged some fans they they knew. It was a joyous ending to a nail biting game.

Neutral-sites or tournaments you get some strange dynamics, but for an old-fashioned campus-type home game to be so in favor of the visitors, weird. Says a lot about the Fordham fan base. Bona always has a good turnout at Rose Hill, but the other night ... just not something you see to THAT extent very often.
