There is another Kentucky team to consider, northern Kentucky. They went to the tournament, won 24 games and coached by a former Bonnie assistant, John Brannen.

Nice to see Brannen doing well. Due to circumstances he was more than an assistant at Bona.

Things seem to be heating up - getting anxious to see the final roster. We should know about Adams by this time next week, correct? And with other teams finalizing their recruiting, the likelihood of a transfer from our roster seems less likely. There's been no word on any of our guys being courted by anyone else so there's that as more good news, although I guess there's always the possibility of something going on under the radar. Keeping my fingers crossed big news, and all of it good, in the next week.

According to VERBALCOMMITSTWITTER: 2017 Cowley College (KS) G/F MIKE'L SIMMS has received an offer from ST. BONAVENTURE. Three years to play. What does this mean with KENIC?

As a freshman member of the Cowley men's basketball team Simms finished the season averaging a team best 14 points per game to go along with an average of 4.4 rebounds per game. He averaged 25.8 points per game in the Tigers' last five contests and scored 45 points in a win over Pratt.
A week after being named a Second-Team All-Jayhawk East selection, he followed up that honor by being named a Second-Team All-Region VI Basketball performer.
He was one of only four freshman to receive All-Region honors.
Simms' solid play helped the Tiger basketball team earn a home playoff win as Cowley advanced to compete at the Region VI Tournament held at Hartman Arena in Park City.
He has a 3.61 GPA, was named the March Athlete of the Month and is a sports management major.
"This honor gives me even more confidence heading into next season and makes me want to continue working hard," Simms said.
His 3pt shooting was 36% on 54/151 3pt FG makes/attempts

Torn, but in a good way. Really excited about powder. I really like Kenic, he would be a fourth legitimate big, rotation and depth wise I just like to have four guys that can all play and contribute. Kenic just seems to have an inside presence offensively. I don t know what the coaches think or if he wants to come. Then I look at Simms on film and he too is a player, 6'5", 226 lbs, a Jonathan hall/Charles Barkley type, decent handle, can shoot it fro deep, pull up and with his frame, can really finish strong. While it may in part be level of competition, opponents just seem to bounce off him. ND has a comparable player, who just creates mismatches. The other pluses, are he has really seemed to come into his own towards the end of the system with some monster games, excellent rebounder and he has 3 years of eligibility. Like Kenic, he too maybe in high demand. With Simms, in some cases you could play four guards, which would include Simms, and a big. If you had to choose between these two guys, it would be a pleasant dilemma. Is it only may?

Like we don't do that? The things we say on here when a guy is considering us makes it seem like every recruit we have is a five star guy.

Like we don't do that? The things we say on here when a guy is considering us makes it seem like every recruit we have is a five star guy. This is just a simple fan forum, it is supposed to have fans discussing their excitement for new recruits. What I am referring to is different. Twitter is directly to the student athlete. While some Bona fans probably engage in butt kissing on twitter it pales in comparison to what VCU brown-nosers do. If there is even a mention of VCU interest in a recruit they flood the person with love letters. It is terrible and makes me want to take a shower after reading their stuff. Bonaventure fans don't go that far. And from what I can see mostly wait until there is a commitment. Idk how other fanbases compare. I am assuming they are more like us and not like VCU

With Jay's indication that he will return, that's a positive, not only for Jay but also for the team. Jay had 193 assista last year and most of the faithful believe he could have had more if there was a third or fourth conissitent scorer. Most of us are waiting to see what happens with Chino, and while we are hopeful Courtney will be able to give us something, it becomes that much more incumbent upon everyone to put in the work this summer to step up their game. Whether we get a shot at Simms or Kenic or somebody who is not even on the radar, I am hopeful that Mark and his staff will find that guy who can add to what we have here. For the prospective Bonnie out there you get to play with a top assist guy, who is going to make your game better, but it doesn't end there, adding a talent like Poyser is going to ensure that it's just the beginning of a long string of 20 win seasons. Pretty pumped to build the Bonnies.
