Having a 157 non conference schedule can't help... We went 8 - 4 with that poor schedule

The Bracket Project has updated there NIT projections. Bonas is very much on the NIT bubble as of now we would be out based on the current projection. We have a long way to go to get a home game. Three more wins would go a long way to putting us in but we might need significant help from regular season conference winners to also win their conference tournaments for the max number of at large seeds to be available.

For what it's worth DRatings projects the Bonnies to be the 4th #6-seed in the NIT. For sure on the NIT Bubble, but feel they're in good shape as along as they don't do something drastic - like lose their last 3. Would be hard to not include a 12-6 A-10 team - however need to get to 12 wins first.
Tomorrow will be a very tough game...just need to find a way to win it.

Bonawolf this is not a slight against you as I agree with you but its comments like these that are telling and despite how far Bona has come.....we have a long long way to go. Here we are as a fan base really nervous about beating a bottom half A-10 team. I mean if we can't beat them with all that's on the line why have discussions about NIT let alone NCAA? Makes me wonder if we really just overachieved this and last season if we all think we might lose against a bottom of the league team.

Road games are tough in college basketball in general but in conference they are even tougher. Last year La Salle beat us and Dayton and they stunk. Davidson just took Dayton to OT and should have beaten them in regulation. Fordham has beaten URI and VCU. St Louis has beaten Mason twice. I worry about every conference game we play, regardless of the location. Davidson has 2 of the top scoring tandems in the country. To be worried or not overly confident about beating somebody doesnt have to be mutually exclusive with thinking we can make the NIT. We can lose tomorrow and still make the NIT. We can win tomorrow and still not make the NIT.

KC I am with you but we are also talking about a down A-10 conference. Yes road games are hard and as I said I am nervous too. Losing happens yes, I was confident going into lasalle last year and we lost but I still fell we were a NCAA tourney team. My point is we need to be at the point where we are confident in our team beating a team that is 7-9 if we really want to be legit NIT/NCAA contenders.

The Bills went to four straight Super Bowls and were 58-19 during those years, and I still was nervous and thought we were going to lose that week's game.

Just who did UNC-Asheville beat in their non-conference schedule that allows them to make it in the NIT over us? Siena??
