I was wondering what type of defense Hurley will use against us. Will he employ some type of trick defense, will he use a triangle and 2? Box and 1? Or go straight up man? St Joe's played Mobley very tight, and picked up Jay well before the key.....that stopped Matt, and our offense puttered. We know that he has 4 very good guards, so if he has a concern about our frontcourt, maybe he will play us straight up. Straight up man to man, they want to be the intimidator and that's how they do it. They will ride Mobley and Adams all day, we need Stockard to be really good and maybe score 20... There is no way against a Rhody defense that Mobley and Adams go for more than 35 combined. We really need to have Stockard be a play maker for others as well. Great opportunity for the guys, beat a top 20 RPI team on the road and get back in the conference title chase! Saturday Morning can't come quick enough, donuts and Bonnies basketball.

A morning start worked out well for Dem Ladies vs UMass...why not Dem Bonnies too? Up and at em early, eat a good breakfast, pregame routine, then play. Get business done out of the way.

Key to a Bona win vs. Rhody will be the play of Courtney Stockard. It is no surprise that Jay is a major contributor, but I was surprised to see the only other player on the team that falls into that category on kenpom (24-28% of possessions used) is Courtney. Yes, he does not start but he ranks 8th in the A10 in workload by being in on 26.5% of our plays so far in conference, highest usage of any Bonnie in conference play. Other important performance indicators: he ranks 13th in offensive rebounds, 6th in steal percentage, 6th in fouls drawn per 40 minutes, and 7th in free throw percentage so far in conference play. Starter or not, he's playing a key role and we're very fortunate he made it back after his long absence from the game.

Stockard is that prototypical athlete that most P5 schools get, and we were lucky enough to get him. He should continue to become more and more confident as conference season goes on. I love his ability to attack the rim and draw fouls. I believe Robinson is the only one capable of defending him from URI. I believe with Rhody lack of big men this is a great matchup for Courtney to pound the ball to the rim.

Dare I say, we get the benefit of the officiating in this game. A10 knows how important this game is on a national stage, and wants to showcase it’s 2 best teams for the committee. Whether that means swallowing whistles, or slightly favoring the Bonnies, I’m not sure...but...

Whether that means swallowing whistles, or slightly favoring the Bonnies, I’m not sure...but... Hurley's sideline antics have grown tired. Not only are officials not intimidated by his rants, but they are more than likely not giving him the benefit of the doubt, for fear of appearing to supervisors that they're letting him have his way with them. I predict a bench warning before the first TV time out.

We should run a survey, who flaps his arms more - Hurley or the St. Joe's Hawk?

There is no reason he needs to be acting like that every single game to every officiating crew

Anyone think Jay's got a little extra in him for this one based on the fact his little bro will be suiting up in Kingston next year? I bet it's on his mind...would expect Jay (and Matt) to come out locked in. Will need to be. They both know so much hinges on this game....hoping for similar performance to the game at Dayton, Feb. 20th, 2016.
Go Bonas!

We all remember being on the other end of A10 favoritism vs VCU...

It's obvious what school Hurley wants to coach next...... Syracuse. He's making Boeheim proud with all the whining he does! The most annoying thing about watching the URI/SLU game was all the face time they were giving him. It does grow old!
I can't wait for tomorrow. I'll be going to the game with my brother (84 grad), my niece (SBU Freshman) and my 10 year old daughter (hopefully future SBU grad)
Go Bona's!

Teams know how to defend us to limit Matt and Jay. Why would it be any different this game? I love the Bonnies, but I don't believe our supporting class will be able to defeat RI on their own. The only way we win is if we figure out a way to get Jay and Matt involved. (and play inspired defense)

The tale of the tape is just about even in scoring, defense, rebounding. It is going to come down to intangibles and who executes better. Of course the refs could also have a say in how they call the game.

The Ryan Center will probably be sold out by game time tomorrow. The last couple times the BONNIES played there the games were low scoring and close, like the Syracuse game. I predict this one will be too. The BONNIES have to effectively use their zone to contain BERRY & LANGEVINE, while not wasting any offensive possessions. Hopefully, the BONNIES will get the same results tomorrow that they did in the CUSE game.
