Might as well get this started. Is this the game Coach Schmidt gets 203?

Something worth noting, we're 0-3 last 3 true home games. Our last home win was the drubbing over Joes (since Fordham was in the ROC). I think we're due here

Must-win for any shot at a 4-seed and double-bye. To accomplish this requires a complete leapfrog over Mason...a share favors Mason in tiebreak.
A Bona win Sunday keeps mo going and puts pressure on Mason to hold top-4 spot. Opportunity for payback. And yes, Our Guys are due for a home victory.

We will have a great shot if we keep up the recent (outside of VCU game) defensive intensity. Mason doesn't shoot that well from 3 (they are 8th in 3pt% for the conference, we are 10th), but they love to drive to the hoop and often get hacked on their way in. We need to limit their penetration and also set our feet in time outside of the restricted area to take the charges that we know this team (especially Osun and Stockard) are capable of taking. Some competent officiating would also be nice from that aspect. On Wednesday, UMass was able to shoot well but turned the ball over 18 times in 45 minutes of play. Limiting turnovers is typically a strength for us. Our previous game against Mason we shot 25% from 3 and 39% overall. Hopefully the last game gives us the confidence to increase those numbers a bit!

Interesting point about the schedule and the home games. I noticed it too. After Sunday the Bonnies will be 2/3 of the way through their A10 schedule, and their home slate has been no cake walk so far. Give the young group a nod for figuring out a winning road formula in order to compensate for the tough sledding at home

Next 5 games are very winnable: GMU and La Salle at home, at Fordham, Duquesne home, and at GW.
Hard to believe after our start that 10-6 or 11-5 is still within reach — heading into Davidson and St Louis in the final week.
Hope I didn’t just put the announcer’s curse on the Bonnies. 😜🙏

Controlling Kier in this one will be important. He killed us on the glass last time out and he was A big difference maker. If the Bonnies slow him down I like our chances.

Last game against GM, Kaputo and Poyser were a combined 2-16. Add in Dom's 0-1 in 3 minutes for a 2 - 17 out of the "2". Assuming we improve on that, which I expect we will, our chances improve tomorrow!

Mason has played well. At their place we were up 2 with 10 to play after being down 3 at the half (they got a buzzer beater trey).
We have rebounded the ball well since Courtney's return & with Double Os increased mins in conference play (29 mpg). Last game they killed us on the glass (44 to our 24 rebs). They are #2 in offensive boards. Osun most be very careful keeping Kier off the glass without out getting into foul trouble. A repeat of 3 fouls in first 4 mins (as in Davidson game) will result in a loss. Same with Courtney staying out of foul trouble.
I agree with proudbonnie89. Handling Kier is a key factor in the outcome and we cant get just THREE FTs!. The calls provided them the opportunity to outscore us by 12 from the stripe.

Needless to say, the current Bonnies are a much different team then they were in the first meeting. Dom played 3 minutes in that game. Ikpeze was still the starting center.
Schmidt said that a top 4 finish is the goal. I think that’s attainable. This is a stretch where they can rack up some wins.

Bonnies 3pt favorite. That seems about right. Let's get back to dominating at home today.

Obviously Trout was referring to years past. As in “Ya know, dem Bonnies used to be pretty good in the RC!”.
Freakin A10 is so whack this year other than the Top 2 teams, literally anything can happen on any day/night. Home court is no longer an automatic safe haven for us.
Bonnies CANNOT afford to let this one get away. Protect the house — and let’s score more than 51!
