Noticed this weekend that 5 homes in a row starting from where the old Castle Inn property ended are for sale including the famous “small house”, anyone in the area know what’s going on with these properties?

Coincidence? It’s interesting..have not noticed that. Community bank at the Castle site-is building a large parking lot directly east of there..and adding more employees..my perception is that Allegany has much higher traffic volume and Speed/Noise than ever before...and also less speed enforcement The aging population in the community may simply not need as much one family housing...may this will all go to student rentals

Followed up on this post a while ago but it wasn’t posted or deleted... the five houses look to have been packaged by one entity to sell as a group...for development...from my perspective t a plus for Allegany or bona.

Thanks, but guessing there is not a lot of land behind these houses for redevelopment.

The rumor mill has been humming about those properties on campus. Sources have told me the university is looking to purchase the properties. Ideas being tossed around include building indoor tennis facility to include a bowling ally consisting of several lanes. If enrollment trends continue to rise, a new dorm. The remainder of the property would be used for commercial development that would compliment the growing student enrollment.
Regarding the Community Bank expansion - my understanding is the bank is moving its offices near Lincoln Park to its Allegany sites. Most likely few new jobs will be created but will take advantage of tax breaks.

FYI - if you are NOT a New York State resident you will pay about an 11% non-resident tax on the sale of the home.

Obviously the university wants to bring back the idea of Bonaventure Square from 2011-13

See there’s a “sold sign” on these properties now, anyone know if the university bought them or somebody else?

Explain to me why a decrease in heating bills would cause one to sell. What am I missing?
