ROSE HILL used to sound like a Bona home game but that has changed with a far greater RAM fan interest and attendance.
Games are nearly sold out many weeks in advance. All the more surprising that they are 0-5 on their home court in conference play.
We come into Da Bronx having dropped our last 3 games to Fordham. Our lack of consistency makes it a puzzle as to how we might perform tomorrow night.
Fordham's greatest strengths are gaining control of the offensive glass (#2 in Conf) and steals (#1). ROSE is tied as the A10's best thief and Charlton is #7 in steals.
Putting a body on TSIMBILA is paramount to keeping him off the offensive glass (#2 off boards). He will leave his man to block shots on slashing players (#2 blocks).
In our 6 point loss to them at the RC their +14 fast break points was a big factor in their win. It helped in them making 51% of their shots!
Rare to ever see us have that enormous disparity in FB points. We will be reminded of that great failure.
Caring for the ball and attacking will be important in providing some outside looks.
They (ROSE, CHARLTON & RICHARDSON) will look to quickly double CHAD and create TOs. Against the DUKES CHAD had no TOS for I think the first time this season.
Hopefully we can generate a balanced scoring attack unlike against the DUKES when CHUCK and MIKA scored 63% of our points.

What a great and historic gym that Fordham has. I’ve been there a few times and it did seem like a Bona home game. I was at the Duquesne game last weekend and Venning is the key. Thanks for the info WGT…

Yes, CHAD could be the key tonight but I expect a big bounce back game from MOSES.

While Fordham saw strong attendance figures last year, this year not so much. Down to around 1,800 per game and they've only eclipsed 2,000 or more in two of their 13 home games.
We should be able to be the Rams, but nothing about this team makes sense and our game against them at home didn't encourage me all that much. This team should be able to finish better than 9-9 or 10-8 in conference, but to do that, we need to string together a bunch of wins in a row.
Maybe tonight starts that.

Also, it's Ash Wednesday. Hope they don't forget and cook too many hot dogs. Some of the Catholics are abstaining from meat.

Fordham is averaging 1,789 through 13 games thus far this season. They averaged only 1,135 for 20 games last season. Rose Hill Gym is still officially listed with a capacity of 3,200 though that might be a bit inflated from actuality. Last season, its capacity was reduced for some construction work in or around the gym.

Did Fordham reopen the bleachers that were rolled up on the far end? Is that where the construction was going on?

Last season, its capacity was reduced for some construction work in or around the gym. That is true, but they have some very sparse crowds all year. Their biggest crowd of the year was for kids day when they packed the stands with kids from local schools with no choice but attend the game. They drew flies for their last home game against VCU. I know people, especially the media, want Fordham basketball to be a thing, but I doubt it ever will be...

Last time I was in Rose Hill, the CONGER brothers and AN put on a dominate show and crushed the Rams.

Nicholson 30 points 9 Rebs. Congers combined for 13 & 5 www.sports-reference.com/cbb/boxscores/2012-02-22-fordham.htmlIts been a disappointing year thus far, an explosion like that would go a long way tonight. Not predicting it but certainly hoping for it

The Bona section behind our bench was sold out more than 2 months ago.
The cannolies are on the bus for hopefully a sweet win to match the Arthur Ave, Bronx Little Italy pastries.

CHAD getting tied up so often is as frustrating as others stepping out of bounds!
