Will there be a 3rd Announcement today regarding the final scholarship that's available or are we finished for 2007-2008 season and will it be saved for next year?
What a great job Coach has done "filling out" (a better phrase is needed to reflect how great a job the staff has done!) the roster; confirming the previously signed 3-recruits from the Sol regime then going out and adding:
-2 major transfers. -2 big time wings -1 top JUCO big man
Now how fast can Coach whip these guys into a team that can not only be competitive but take (or even steal) it's fair share of victories?
Also interesting to observe how the rotation starts out but also how it develops over the course of the season; will the 4-returning players be in the rotation but also keep there minutes/roles as the year progresses?
When or how soon will we see the following lineup on the floor:
PG Malcom E SG D Taylor SF Haley PF DCook PF MMorgan
The talk is that the A10 will be a more competitive/balanced conference this year.....appears that the Bonnies will contribute to that as well!
Go Bonnies!!

I don't think you will see that lineup on the court this season. That is 5 freshmen on the court at the same time. Maybe next season you might see that combination.

Whats wrong with 5 frosh when the frosh class is this talented and our returning players are not exactly coming off an ncaa championship....would love to see Schmidt occasionally throw out 4 or 5 frosh at a time and see how they do....

There is a precedent, although it would be difficult to say our Frosh compare......but wouldn't it be fantastic.
The 5 members of the Michigan Fab 5 are Chris Webber, Jimmy King, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard and Ray Jackson. The entire group played together for only 2 years because Webber went to the NBA after the season. The 5 lost in the Final Four, and really the Final 2, of the NCAA tournament basketball championship losing to the Duke Blue Devils in Minneapolis as freshman, then to the North Carolina Tar Heels as sophomores. The Fab "4" continued on for one year after Webber left, barely missing out on a third consecutive final 4 when they lost to eventual champion Arkansas in the Elite Eight. Juwan Howard and Jalen Rose left Michigan after their junior season. Jimmy King and Ray Jackson did not make a significant NCAA tournament run in their senior seasons and never caught on with an NBA team.

From Vinny in today's Olean Times Herald: Schmidt still has one more scholarship to hand out this season, but he said it would likely be held on to until next season.
