Right now there are cops outside of the richter center investigating a "suspicious package" that was found near the building.
Robinson, Falconio, Doyle and the Richter Center have all been evacuated.
Student life has said it will be at least another hour before students will be let back in.

I knew SBU security had a bong squad. Didn't know about the bomb squad. When I worked for the BV, I would interview Terry Tambash a lot. I always loved going to his office and checking out the collection of confiscated bongs in the corner.

A sign of the times fo' sure...
We went through a rash of fire drills in Dev in 80-81 when Solan was an earnest RD; I have cold memories of standing outside in below freezing weather, watching some guy named Tim climb the protruding bricks up to 4th east to entertain the frigid crowd. Everything then seemed so stupid, goofy and innocent now its 4 alarm serious

I was living in Dev at that time as well. I can't remember the number of fire alarms in the middle of the night but it had to be in the high double digits to be sure. Some nights there were two or three evacuations on the same night into the freezing cold weather. Solan was indeed the RD. I still have some guilty feelings about how difficult we made his job at the time. (Nah, I'm over it!).
