Will all of the Z supporters PLEASE step forward tonight? I have listened to people bad mouth Tyler Relph for the past four years, and I'm damn sick of it. Zarryon Fereti, for every postiive he brings to the basketball floor, brings five negatives. Almost single-handedly, this kid crushed the Bonnies' shot at extending a 2nd half lead. What a laughing stock.

He's one of those guys that can get really hot once or twice a season and drop a bunch of 3s. Otherwise, nothing. Like a guy a few years back, whose name escapes me, that killed Temple.

Didn't see the game so can't comment on the loss being laid solely on Z. Sounded like he had lots of help shooting miserably. Team 29%, 21% treys & 46% from the stripe. Z & Lee went a terrible 5-30. Again sounds like other than Pops & Relph, Z had company hitting nothing. Lee with only 4 pts. This was a lost golden opportunity. With anywhere close to decent shooting they get a big W on the road.

The name that escapes you is probably Prato. Chaney in the post game said "This is a Catholic University, get me a drink." Saw Prato play for Argentia in their loss to PR in Pan Am game last week.

Wasn't Prato. They guy I'm thinking of was a transfer (JUCO I think). Might have been King. I thought it was a more unusual name, but I am having a senior moment on this. I just remember the guy was on fire that night. I think it was the same game you are refering to, though, wgt.

SBU79...Figured you were thinking of Praticio because in Jan of 2002 he dropped 8-12 treys on the Owls to beat them 93-74 prompting Chaney's I need a drink comment. The 2nd time we played them at Liacouras Center Chaney got his 75-71 win with a contained Prato. Isaac King also nailed 8 against Temple in Jan 99.

Ike King was a JUCO who lit Temple up in 99. 8-19 for the game, all for threes.

Well, I guess we beat Temple a couple times back then. Ike is the guy I was thinking of. My memory of him and my impression of Z are about the same. Prato didn't fit my origninal post because he was a pretty consistent and reliable contributor.

It was definitely Ike King that you remember. His shot showed up about once every 15 games. Ike is probably a very good comparison to Z.

The name calling in this thread is unfortunate, because Sir Elton, Stud and 08 have all been valuable contributors to this board. Disagree with the premise of this post. Why do we need to choose between Relph and Z? Both are important players, who play different roles for this team. Only difference is Tyler struggled at the start of the season while Z is now struggling.
Can't imagine this team, without Tyler playing the point. The same is true for Z, being the 2nd leading scorer on this team. There is not another player on this team that can replace his points. In today's OTH Vinny mentioned Michael Lee and Z are the 3rd highest scoring duo in the A-10. It is a credit to Schmidt that this game was competitive when you consider his 2 leading scorers shot a combine 5 for 30 from the field. Vinny also pointed out despite Z struggling with his shot he continued to play solid defense. This was not the case for Z last year. We just need him to find his stroke.

I don't think anyone want anyone to choose. But with a lot of people piling on Relph over the years for not "living up to their standards", I'm pretty sure it's now time for Z to take some criticism. Z struggles from the field, struggles in transition and still doesn't bring much to the defensive end. I would like for him to take one shot inside the 3-point-line that he didn't try and lean into someone and draw a foul. Z is the most overrated, stats-don't-tell-the-whole-story-player in recent memory.
