jmct- I said the same thing 5 posts prior to yours regarding 13.02.11.e. Many schools warn ALL allums not to contact prospective recruits - period. As Sneakers said - let the coaching staff do what they get paid to do & donate your $ to SBU.

So you are a coach or parent in the district you can't talk to the kid about said school. There would be appx. about 1,000 violations every year. What they are referring to is the Blue Chip situation. For example a junior bona student is home on break goes back to his old hs. He talks to a sr. about how great it would be to have him at Bonas would that be a recruiting violation?

STAY AWAY FROM THE RECRUITING BUSINESS OR TALK TO BARB QUESTA ABOUT COMPLIANCE WITH NCAA RULES.. DANGER!!!.
In 1968 the bonnies were banned from the NCAA'S with Lanier as a junior. It seems an eager alum took a player from St Anthony's in LI to an NCAA SITE in March 1968 and we were forced to sit out of NCAA tourney in 1968-69. The kid went to South Carolina.
Check the former players roster i.e jersey players. We have recruited down there since HUBIE BROWN PLAYED FOR St. Pats. in 1949 The whole team was from Jersey from1946 to 1950. See Ken Murray whose jersey was retired i believe was from NJ. . Also Ed Donovan.who is a Bona coaching legend.

Easiest thing to do is e-mail the coaching staff if you know of a player who would be interested in playing at Bonas

You guys are all worked up over some comical comments I made regarding myself going to basketball games and talking to players. HELLO I am going nowhere near Newark and Elizabeth thank you very much. I was just messing around. Although I did attend the same high school as a former #1 recruit Sean Banks. But my high school doesnt get kids like that anymore. We sold our sould for that one basketball title. More of a football hotbed.
Anyway I think this post went way too far. I was just playin. I am not going to recruit anyone.

Yes, there are thousands of violations every year. 99% don't get reported or noticed. But does a school want to take even a slight chance of getting involved with a recruiting violation?

NCAA is a complete joke and NJbona02 nice job getting people to overreact because everyone knows you don't stray too far off I-80 when in NJ.
