The NBA talk should probably stop for the time being. Nicholson has great skill, a great work ethic, tremendous intelligence, and a wonderful attitude. He needs to use those things over the course of four years to help SBU get back onto the national scene and enhance his strength and game to an NBA level. The tools are there, though.

Are you sure you guys want to put his kind of pressure on this kid? I too love the upside and potential of the kid but he has a l-o-n-g way to go yet - in season one! Let's just let him mature through next year and see where he's at after his soph season. Let's give him a chance to fil the "big shoes" some guys have him in!

I think this year's A-10 schedule and "The Professor"'s reaction to it will go a long way to giving us a hint as to what kind of future this kid will have based on past Bonnie alums, anyway. There have not been many Bonnie freshmen who have shown the promise this kid has shown in his first year on the college hardcourt who haven't gone a long way in their careers after leaving Bonas. Let's see how this plays out. In the meantime, go Andrew! Let's go, Bonas!!!

Nice pic tomangelone. Just one of The Professor's 17 dunks this season. Since this thread is dedicated to Andrew, here is a current profile from Go.Bonnies.com:
LOOK OUT BELOW Freshman Andrew Nicholson has more than lived up to the hype that crossed the Canadian border with him. The 6-foot-9 forward from Mississauga, Ontario is averaging 13.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.6 blocks per game. All three stats are league-bests for freshman and so is his .614 field goal percentage. Nicholson has been at his best over the last three games, posting a pair of 20-point efforts to help him average 21.3 points while leading the team in scoring each contest. On the season, Nicholson has scored in double figures eight times and has led the team in rebounding six times and blocks 10 times. Nicholson just missed recording a triple-double at Bucknell with 22 points, eight rebounds and a school record nine blocks. He is just one of two Bona players to record a double-double this season, while his 17 dunks are tops on the team. Below is a look at how Nicholson stacks up amongst the league's rookies and leaders.
Category Stat A-10 Rookies A-10 Overall Scoring 13.0 1st 18th FG Percentage$ .614 1st 3rd Rebounding 5.9 1st 17th Off. Rebounds 2.4 3rd 12th Blocks* 3.6 1st 2nd 20-Point Games 2 1st T-9th
* - Ranks 8th nationally and is tops amongst all freshman $ - Ranks 18th nationally and is tops amongst all freshman
RECORD BREAKER Freshman Andrew Nicholson has set a pair of program records over his initial months as a Bonnie. The most recent came last Saturday at Bucknell when Nicholson set a program record with nine blocks breaking the previous mark of eight that he equaled earlier this season against Princeton. The original block record was set by Caswell Cyrus in 1998 against Siena. Nicholson's nine-block night is tied for the most by any Division I player this season. Nicholson was also named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week three straight times between November and December, making him the first Bona player to win the award three times in a season.

Nice pic tomangelone. Just one of The Professor's 17 dunks this season. Since this thread is dedicated to Andrew, here is a current profile from Go.Bonnies.com: ... The most recent came last Saturday at Bucknell ... We played at Bucknell on Tuesday, not Saturday. Other than that, I can't possible find something concerning Andrew Nicholson about which one could complain. If he stays healthy, the potential for Andrew and the Bonnies is limitless. He's 1.1 points per game behing Hall and 0.1 rebrounds per game behind Thomas. At the rate he's going, he could end up the first Bonnie to lead the team in scoring, rebounding and blocks as a freshman, easily finishing in the top 10 in the nation in rejections. What a pleasure he's been so far, and his career has only just begun.

NBA? I thought Nicholson came to Bonas to study in the new science center. Doesn't he want to be a science teacher? Having taught science at a Big East school, with a tall tower, not far from Duquesne, I found it an honorable profession.

If you want to show ANDREW additional "love", the one Canadian hoopsite(www.hooplife.ca) is running a poll to determine which native Canadian NCAA player is the most important to his team. So go there and vote for ANDREW!

Keep going, guys! We're killing 'em with Andrew getting 71% of the vote so far to only 6.4% for Andy Rautins, and others.
