I assume this was done by a SBU student through its JMC school that is the standard procedure at ESPNU. Also, the reporter was way off base to say this is the first optimistic year since 2000 we had 2 very good years after the 2000 season. If we can get to 7 or 8 win territory in the A-10 you will see a lot of positive press.

I also didn't like how he described us as a "small but loyal fan base." Sure, we don't have the amount of fans a UNC or Duke has, but ask Fordham after tonight if we have a small fan base. There are Bonnies all over.

I'm not ready to complain about coverage of this variety. It's great to have Bona's and Nicholson get this kind of exposure. So what if ESPNU considers the fan base to be "small but loyal." When taking into account the scale of the programs that ESPN is used to covering (UNC, Duke, Kansas, UConn, etc), Bona's fan base is definitely smaller in comparison. I wouldn't be offended, as I'm sure that they'd also have said the same thing about Gonzaga's fan base before that program turned into an annual tourney team. The best approach is to keep working hard, bringing in good recruits, and winning games...

I believe the video was done by a student from Ithaca as I remember speaking with a kid who was in attendance for the Princeton game and he said he worked for ESPNU.

Glad to see the good press. Being a senior in the JMC program and heavily involved in the Koop Lab, I can definitely tell you he is not a student here.
Once the students get back to school, look for the SBU-TV casts. We'll have highlights of games and hopefully some good features like this.
It runs on the school's channel nine around 10 times a week. It airs on Time Warner Cable in Olean on channel six. Not exactly sure of the times though. I know it runs in Buffalo once or twice a week, but I'm not sure of the channel. Probably whatever the local acces is.

Hopefully by "good features like this," you actually mean "good features that are nothing like this."
