The crowd was terrific. Would have been louder if the Bona fans would have all been seated together, we were all over the place and it was difficult to feed off of the energy of the other fans.
Those 3 rebounds by Davenport were critical, and amazing. His athleticism and instinct will carry him far. On the way to the car I passed by our bus, and Michael had just put his gear in the stow area and I was able to congratulate him. A good kid.
Saw David Capers before the game. I mentioned that we will never forget those 3 free throws in the Kentucky game. He mentioned that whenever he is at Bonnie function, that does become the topic of discussion. He is working in the financial industry.
It was good to see Tom Stith and Tom Fitzmaurice (they were teammates). If I'm 66, they are nearing 70, but they sure do look good.
Said hello to Roger Bauer. He said he still plays ball, at least he says he still has his shot. I remember those long rainbow left handed jumpshots.......resembling Eric Seigrist (I think he was there last night).
Sat at the table (pre-game) with Shandue......boy I wish he was our playing point for us now.
Hey, we won, and by more points than most predicted. It was a slow game, too many fouls.
Also saw WGT, I appreciate his posts.

WOW - ROGER BAUER !!! Along with that name goes Bob Barneck.
I listen to the Fordham feed, the announers seemed impressed with the Bonnies, especailly when they were up by seventeen. The post game interview was with their Asst Coach. He mentioned a couple of times that the Bonnies " out toughed us ", " a much tougher team than us " . any thoughts on that for those who were at the game?

The second half got pretty physical. They were getting tougher with Andrew, saw a Fordham guy holding Andrew's arm, and plenty of hooking and pushing. Of course we were at the line 45 times and it would have been more if we made the front end.
Roger Bauer's running mate in the backcourt was John Riley. Barnek was one year ahead of him, but of course they played together.

Frank, I seem to remember John Riley dying at a very young age. Do you have any recall?

AZ-----I do recall, and the recollection was after a sad cmment from Roger, I just never followed up with that. Hopefully someone on the board does remember. He was a hard nosed, tough guard somewhat in the mold of Blackburn, but shorter.

I might be wrong, but I recollect that John Riley was killed in a shooting incident in East Olean. Can anyone else corroborate this?

fjs64.... I agrree that the play inside was physical but clean. The refs were letting them bang inside. By the 2nd half you could see Nicholson getting a little perturbed at the grabbing & clutching. This created his 3rd foul which was swinging his elbows after gathering in a rebound. It was a proper call but you could see there was no mal intent by Andy. Best of luck Frank with your son’s college decision. Too bad Bonas doesn’t have LaX. No doubt that would be his choice.
