Pamfilo da Magliano, O.S.F. - 1st President - 1859-1867Pamfilo da Magliano was one of the founders of St. Bonaventure, he was among the first friars present when the first corner stone was built, and eventually became the school's first president. He was regarded as a prime example of a Franciscan man. On April 20, 1856, the cornerstone of the first building that was to be St. Bonaventure University was laid. On February 1, 1859, St. Bonaventure was formally opened to students. web.sbu.edu/friedsam/archives/Biographies/presidents/02601000.htmlFr. If it has to be a Mount Rushmore with 4 faces, only 2 players belong. Bob Lanier and Tom Stith are alone in their basketball accomplishments. Other 2 faces would be their coaches Eddie Donovan and Larry Wiese, which I would call the 2 best coaches in Bonas history.
I would prefer memorial built like a trophy with Greg Sanders, Earl Belcher, Freddie Crawford, Eddie Donovan and Larry Weise being the base. They are supporting the pedestal of Bob Lanier and Tom Stith, the 2 legends of Bona Basketball.
