Coach pulls Thomas and Nicholson out w/a little over 7 minutes in the game...Andrew had had 12 points in the first 13 minutes of the second half and missed, I believe, 1 shot in the 2nd half....he does not get back in until 2:12 left....and he sits Mo Thomas who had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the game and he doesn't get back in until 40 seconds left in the game...so down the stretch we have Davenport, Benson, and Carter (Combined, thats NO offense) and Mathews (who was 4-15 from the field for the game) and Hall. There was no one who could or ever has been able to, put the ball in the hoop on the court for 5 minutes down the stretch! Nicholson was eating Fordham up underneath...they couldn't stop him. But the best was who comes back in w/20 seconds left, after sitting on the bench for 10 minutes after consecutive turnovers, to take the inbound pass, dribble around aimlessly (without passing once) and takes it to the hoop...only to miss? Our stellar point guard who had another deplorable game with no points and two assists....None other than Mr. Eleby. Mark laid an egg w/his use of personnel tonight and we got beat at home by a 2-15 team....it was some kind of night.

Solomon-esque. No other way to put it. Schmidt really choked tonight.
I can't believe he said Fordham was defending him well in the second half. What about his back-to-back dunks, sandwiched between a lay-up and a trip to the free throw line? That's defending him well? Better hope Nicholson doesn't get stars in his eyes and think about transferring, because tonight marks the low point in a stomach-turning trend of simply not playing his best player.
As for Thomas playing even less and Schmidt's choice of Eleby ... get real, coach. You blew it tonight. There's no way around it.

I am at a loss for words trying to figure out why the sub pattern worked the way it did tonight. Mo has turned into the emmotional leader of this team, and in crunch time, he is on the bench. I am baffled. It almost seems like at times he doesn't want Mo to succeed.

Nicholson was in the middle of dominating the game when he was pulled. I can't believe Schmidt would even hint at such a thing. Thomas was the only one consistently hitting the boards and was playing very well in the high post with Andrew down low. NO EXCUSE for both of them sitting like they did.
This Malcom Eleby experiment HAS to be over. I've personally given him a longer leash than most, but he's just not any good. There is not one thing you can say about his game that is consistent or even half way decent. Matthews needs to start at PG with Davenport taking Eleby's starting spot. This loss is sickening.

Combined with the panic attack I had in my third day of work today that resulted in me throwing up in the bathroom, this loss may put a cap on the worse day of my life. Hopefully I feel better when I go into work tommorow morning and quit after my third day.

Is he trying to give Nicholson a reason to transfer? Getting benched after how well he was playing I wouldn't blame him if he did. He does not play nearly enough.
